Whitner Slagsvol made one of the most memorable entrances into “Southern Charm” season 11. Viewers first met Slagsvol during a surfing session with Shep Rose and Austen Kroll in episode 2, where he and Rose quickly showed off their skills on their boards, while Kroll….did not.
The outing included commentary about Craig Conover and Salley Carson’s relationship, as well as Slagsvol offering his perspective on the dating drama.
Between his banter, the dynamic with the group, and his quick wit, Slagsvol immediately stood out. Here’s everything you need to know about the newest cast member.
Whitner Slagsvol’s Career, Charleston Roots & Legal Background
According to Slagsvol’s official BravoTV.com bio, he is “a handsome lawyer, a long-standing friend of Shep’s, and a former law school mate of Craig’s.” The network also shared that he has a “keen perspective,” which often enables him to mediate the group when tensions flare.
Rose shared how long their friendship has been. “I’ve known Whitner for probably 10 years,” Rose said in a confessional. “We’re both fond of outdoor activities. His family’s from Colombia; my dad’s family’s right down the road in Camden.”
Slagsvol pointed out one of the biggest differences between the two. “I don’t have a trust fund,” he joked, teasing that he works full-time. He also revealed that his family has South Carolina roots dating back to the Revolutionary War and is reportedly the nephew of Jimmy Buffett’s widow, Jane Slagsvol.
Slagsvol graduated from the College of Charleston in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and later earned his Juris Doctorate from the Charleston School of Law. His LinkedIn profile shows that in 2017, he founded Slagsvol Law Firm, a boutique corporate and entertainment law and civil litigation firm. His professional bio describes him as “Personable, outgoing, ambitious, goal-oriented… Licensed to practice in South Carolina.”
In 2020, Slagsvol expanded into fashion when he teamed up with friend Dylan Roukous to launch Block+Ink, a clothing brand featuring block-printed shirts and designs made from natural materials.
How the Season 11 Newbie Connects With the ‘Southern Charm’ Cast
Slagsvol also has a history with Conover, who confirmed their law school connection. “Whit and I went to the same law school,” Conover said. “His sister and I knew each other well.” The show even flashed back to 2017 when Conover brought Slagsvol’s sister, Sarah, as his date to an event.
Slagsvol enjoys an active lifestyle and regularly posts photos on his personal Instagram, which include his family and his two dogs. He is a dog lover and shares life with a spaniel mix named Bacchus, known as “the Wündēr Dog,” and a new puppy named Artemis. Whether he is outdoors, hunting, or swimming, his dogs and friends are close by.
With deep South Carolina roots, established friendships, and a thriving legal career, Slagsvol brings a unique perspective to season 11. The newest cast member has already built strong relationships with the group, and his arrival promises even more storylines to come.
