KJ Dillard received an apology text message from West Wilson following the ”Summer House” Season 10 reunion taping—and he read it on air during an appearance on ”Watch What Happens Live.”
A little more than a month after Wilson and co-star Amanda Batula‘s shocking romantic relationship was made public, Dillard told Bravo host Andy Cohen that he hadn’t talked to his former close friend Wilson, but received a text from him that he left unread.
“He texted me the day after the reunion, and I didn’t even look at the message,” Dillard said on the May 5 episode of Cohen’s talk show. “I was a bit scared to look at it. … I still haven’t looked at it. There’s only one unread message in my inbox, and it’s his.”
In late March, Wilson and Batula shared a joint Instagram statement, confirming a romantic relationship they had hidden from their castmates. Batula had recently separated from her husband, Kyle Cooke, while Wilson had finally made amends with Ciara Miller after deeply hurting her following their breakup nearly three years prior.
Dillard has vowed that he was sticking by Miller, whom he described as a “sister” to him.
KJ Dillard Appeared Upset by the Text Message
On WWHL, Cohen suggested that Dillard open up the text and read it on the air. After the “Summer House” star clicked on the text, he said, “Oh, it’s long.”
Cohen told him he should look at the message himself first before deciding if it should be shared on air.
“I’ll read it,” Dillard finally agreed.
“West says, ‘I wanted to thank you for your articulation and kindness yesterday, despite being hurt. I’ve been off social and I think I lost touch with how much hurt there was. I’m incredibly sorry,” Dillard read. “Also, sending you love in regards to your mental health. You shared a lot yesterday and I know it might carry much weight now, but I’m always rooting for the best for you. I know it will take some time, but whenever you feel like you’re ready, lunch or a phone call would mean a lot in the spirit of healing. No need to respond. Take your time.”
Dillard appeared very emotional after reading the text. He told Cohen that the situation was painful for everyone on the cast. “It just hurts because it’s like me and him were so close,” he said of Wilson.
A Fellow WWHL Guest said West Wilson’s Text Was a Step in the Right Direction
Bravo fans have a lot of opinions about Wilson and Batula’s relationship and how their betrayal has hurt their exes and friends. Fellow WWHL guest and Bravo superfan Jamie Lynn Sigler was asked what the new couple could do to gain the forgiveness of fans—and Miller.
“More communication like that, like that text, just like owning their actions,” the “Sopranos” actress said on WWHL. “Owning the way people have been hurt by their actions. I just think, obviously, honesty clearly is the best way, and it’s what got us into this mess in the first place.”
Dillard added that reading the message from Wilson stirred up emotions.
“I lowkey want to cry,” he told Cohen. “This is a very tricky situation.”
