Brittany Cartwright’s relationship with Brandon Hanson quickly became a central storyline on “The Valley” season 3, with multiple cast members sharing concerns about the romance during filming.
Ahead of the season, several of her Bravo co-stars spoke to Parade about their reactions to Cartwright’s relationship. Zack Wickham said he was immediately skeptical, stating, “I never saw a green flag. There was not one.” He added, “He was wearing full coats of red flags.”
Jasmine Goode also addressed her initial reaction, explaining that she initially encouraged Cartwright to enjoy herself following her split from Jax Taylor. “At first I was like, ‘Just have fun,’” Goode said. “But then you start to see things, and it’s like…wait.”
Goode also questioned whether Cartwright had enough time to heal before entering a new relationship. “I feel like she hadn’t healed yet,” she told Parade. “That’s the hard part.”
Cartwright later confirmed on her October 2025 podcast that she and Hanson had broken up just months after going public.
Brittany Cartwright Acknowledges ‘Red Flags’ on ‘The Valley After Show’
Cartwright addressed the relationship during “The Valley After Show” for season 3, episode 3, where she acknowledged early concerns.
“I mean, drama was happening as soon as people found out that we were dating,” Cartwright said. “There [were] a lot of red flags.”
She explained that her history with Hanson influenced her decision to pursue the relationship. “Again, I keep going back to the fact that I knew him for so long, and, like, he was a really good friend to me, back in the day,” she said. “And I felt like, like, I actually know this person.”
Cartwright also described a moment when Hanson became involved in group drama involving Lala Kent, Michelle Saniei, and Goode. “Like, what, bro? Like, what the (expletive) are you doing?” she said in a separate After Show clip.
Despite the tension, Cartwright said Hanson did not have “ill intent,” explaining that he struggled to navigate the group dynamic. “He doesn’t realize you can’t say that in this friend group,” she said.
‘The Valley’ Star Dishes on Her Short-Lived Romance
During an April 15 episode of “The Valley,” Cartwright shared more details about her history with Hanson.
“I met Brandon in Kentucky,” she said, noting they first connected while she was working as a waitress at Hooters. “We started off as really close friends. I loved his personality. He is just such a good, genuine person. But the timing just wasn’t right.”
Cartwright explained that both she and Hanson were dealing with personal transitions at the time. “I’m going through my separation and my divorce [from Jax Taylor], and he’s going through a separation as well,” she said. “I’m sure there’s jealousy there with the exes and different things like that, so we’ve got a lot of things that we’re gonna have to work through.”
Hanson, who lives in Paso Robles, later asked Cartwright to be his girlfriend during a date featured in episode 3, and she agreed to date him exclusively.
Hanson also addressed concerns raised by Cartwright’s friends during a conversation with Wickham on the show.
“I do have three kids. I do have an ex. … I get it. There are red flags,” Hanson said.
“The Valley” season 3 continues Wednesday nights on Bravo.
