Check out Denzel Washington in Spike Lee’s latest film, “Highest 2 Lowest,” and you’ll see the actor’s character in an enviable Brooklyn penthouse. The IRL abode has just sold for $16.25 million, according to the New York Post’s Gimme Shelter.
“In the opening scenes of Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, which just premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington appears on the balcony of a penthouse as hip-hop heavyweight David King,” Robb Report explained in June 2025, when the home hit the market. “Spanning the entire 32nd floor of the Olympia Dumbo …, the five-bedroom aerie offers spine-tingling views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges plus shimmering New York Harbor and skyline vistas for your own main-character brooding.”
“The crime thriller, based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 film ‘High and Low,’ also stars Ilfenesh Hadera, A$AP Rocky — and the Dumbo penthouse itself, which last asked $17.5 million. It originally launched in 2022 asking $19.5 million,” according to Gimme Shelter. “It’s the third highest closing price for a condo in Brooklyn, brokers said.”
The Penthouse Takes Up the Entire 32nd Floor
“The full-floor nest,” which is called Penthouse B, “is on the 32nd level of the 33-story modern building, which was completed in 2024,” according to Gimme Shelter. Boasting 4,928 square feet, the home offers residents five bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms “and a 552-square-foot terrace, where Washington took his calls in the film.”
The penthouse “opens to a private elevator landing that leads to a formal foyer and a gallery,” while “a light-filled living and dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Lower Manhattan and New York Harbor,” per Gimme Shelter. “There’s also a chef’s kitchen and a den, which can also function as a fifth bedroom.”
The ‘Olympia Dumbo’ Building Offers Amazing Amenities
The penthouse is found in a building deemed Olympia Dumbo, which offers those who live there plenty of perks including “indoor and outdoor pools, the city’s highest private outdoor tennis court with views over the Brooklyn Bridge — plus a GRONK Fitness gym with a sauna and steam room, a movement studio, a separate spin studio and a juice bar,” Gimme Shelter notes. “There’s also an indoor children’s playroom, an outdoor shipwreck-themed playground, a bowling alley, a private park and a water park. A private parking spot is optional — for an extra $1 million.”
“Created by careful hands and thoughtful minds, Olympia is a modern interpretation of its surroundings,” according to the building’s website. “Rising tall from the heart of historic DUMBO, Olympia offers open and expansive views of the sun-drenched harbor and lower Manhattan skyline from the highest crest in the neighborhood. Thoughtful [exteriors and interiors] all reflect a sense of scale and rhythm, and a palette of colors and materials that is grounded in the maritime and industrial inheritance of DUMBO’s waterfront. Design that reimagines luxury as a wealth of artisanship and craftsmanship that you can see, touch, and feel.”
The website also notes that “[w]ith 76 hand-crafted homes, robust resident services, and over 38,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor amenities, Olympia is a dynamic and vibrant new community all its own.”
