Iconic red glasses-wearing former talk show host Sally Jessy Raphael has put her impressive estate up for sale. And when we say impressive, we mean impressive.
“The home spans 15,000 square feet with cathedral ceilings, a private chapel and 10 fireplaces,” according to Mansion Global (MG). And that’s just the beginning! The incredible property — which also boasts a carriage house, two caretaker’s homes, a greenhouse and a massive 12,000-square-foot stable while sitting on 25 acres — is like a fairytale dwelling come to life.
Of course, if you want to call it your own, you’ll need to consider the fact that it’s on the market for $5 million.

If you’ve ever dreamed of living inside of a storybook-worthy home, then you surely won’t be able to resist finding out more about Raphael’s idyllic estate.
“The timber-frame manor house in the village of Pawling features steeply pitched roofs, moody Gothic spires, a four-story Elizabethan tower and richly decorated interiors,” MG tells potential buyers and real estate-lovers. “Called Elmwood Farm, it sits on 25 acres of land in the Quaker Hill community, about two hours north of Manhattan, and reached via a long gated drive through green lawns.”
The “mansion spans 15,000 square feet with eight bedrooms, 10 fireplaces, grand reception halls, cathedral ceilings, a private chapel and a glass-paneled sunroom,” MG points out. “Interior detailing includes carved millwork, paneled ceilings, detailed masonwork, intricate leaded glass windows and a grand oak staircase.”
Of course, that’s not to forget about the fact that “[t]he property includes a host of outbuildings, including two caretaker homes, a carriage house that doubles as an entertainment space and guest residence, staff quarters, a greenhouse, a yoga space and a 12,000-square-foot stable with wood-paneled interiors,” per MG. “There is also an unused pool,” however, it will need some TLC.
The History of the Property Can Be Traced Back to 1744
There’s no doubt that the future owners of Raphael’s estate will be able to tell their friends about the fact that it was formerly the home of a television icon. On top of that, they can also appreciate its older history.
For instance, the “grand Tudor-esque mansion in New York’s Hudson Valley” had been owned by the same family for nine generations before Raphael bought it in 1997 for $1.725 million, MG explains.
“While the property’s history can be traced to 1744, the main mansion was built over a period from the 1860s to the early 1900s. Raphael maintained the mansion over the years, putting over $1 million into upgrades while aiming to preserve its character,” MG also notes.
“It really takes you back 175 or 180 years,” listing agent Jake Garay with Serhant, told MG. “It’s definitely a period piece. It’s out of that time and that era.”
As for Raphael’s ownership and attempted sale of the estate, “[t]he home was previously listed in 2023 asking $6.5 million before being removed after a $1 million price cut in 2024,” per MG. Now, the TV star is offering potential buyers another opportunity to snap up this amazing abode.
