Brittany Aldean (nee Kerr), wife of country music star Jason Aldean, recently got real about her 2015 beach wedding in Mexico. Yep, she went there. On her Instagram stories (the ones that disappear for seemingly no good reason), Brittany opened up about what she would do differently if she and Jason were to tie the knot today. And honestly? It makes sense why she’d want a different vibe years later.

Back in March 2015, Jason had a very clear vision: a beach wedding. Brittany, meanwhile, was like, “Sure, yeah. Whatever.” As she told People, “Jason wanted to be on the beach for the occasion, to which she responded, ‘Sure, yeah. Whatever.’” Sometimes that’s just how these things go; one person has a Pinterest board, the other is going with the flow.
Brittany’s take? She was happy to let Jason have his moment, even if it wasn’t exactly what she’d pictured. And while, a Mexican beach wedding doesn’t sound bad… it’s just that now, she’s dreaming bigger. Literally.

Fast forward to now, and Brittany is thinking “mountains, please.” She shared, “If we were to renew our vows or if I were to get married to him today, I would do something mountainy, like I would go somewhere like Colorado or Wyoming or something. And it would definitely be more of a cowgirl, moody, just vibey [ceremony]. It would be completely different,” per People.
We’re getting major cozy, cabin-in-the-mountain energy here. Twinkling lights, pine trees, a little rustic charm, and maybe even some country boots instead of fancy sandals. It’s the kind of wedding that screams Brittany Aldean 2.0, and it’s intriguing.

Brittany also got candid about what it’s like being married to a celebrity. “Nothing really truly prepares you to get married to someone who is in the limelight,” she explained to People.
