Another Country Superstar Steps In as Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency

Dolly Parton has confirmed that another country music superstar will step in for her Las Vegas residency after she postponed her highly anticipated shows due to ongoing health challenges — and it’s none other than Tim McGraw.

Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency, Tim McGraw Steps In

Last week, Parton, 79, shared an emotional statement on Instagram announcing the postponement of her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” she said. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon.”

She continued, “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see.”

To keep the show going, Caesars Palace announced that McGraw will step in to perform on several of Parton’s original dates. Fans can catch him on December 4, 6, 12, and 13 at the iconic venue.

Meanwhile, Parton’s residency has officially been rescheduled for September 2026, with tickets remaining valid for the new dates. Refunds are also available for those unable to attend.

“You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” she said in her message. “While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say.”

She added, “And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”

Dolly Parton Cancelled Another Appearance Amid Health Concerns

The postponement comes shortly after Parton revealed that a painful health issue forced her to miss an appearance at Dollywood. In a video shared on X, she told fans, “Hello Dollywood! It’s me! I know, I’m here and you’re there and wondering why that is. I had a little problem. I had a kidney stone. Turns out there was an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling around this minute… You need a few days to feel better.’”

She assured fans the condition wasn’t serious and said she was “there in spirit,” promising to return to the park soon.

Off stage, the singer has also faced personal heartbreak this year. In March, she confirmed the death of her husband Carl Dean at age 82 after more than six decades of marriage.

“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years,” she said in a statement. “Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.” Dean’s cause of death was not disclosed, though he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2019.
