Country Star Leaves Record Label After 5 Years to Pursue New Opportunities

Country singer Ian Munsick is spreading his wings and taking a bold step into independence. The Wyoming-born artist recently announced on Instagram that he’s officially parting ways with the label that helped him drop three albums in just five years. And judging from both his tone and his fans’ reactions, this is far from a goodbye; it’s a wide-open hello to whatever comes next.

From Wyoming to Nashville

Munsick kicked off his announcement with a reminder of just how far he’s come. “I moved to Nashville 13 years ago, fresh from the prairies of Wyoming, in pursuit of making music my career.” he said. “I’m incredibly grateful for the life music has given not just me, but also my wife (and manager) and our soon-to-be family of four.”

That alone is enough to get fans emotional… he’s not just talking about career wins, he’s talking about building a life, a family, and a future, all fueled by the music he’s been writing and performing since making the big move. It seems like Nashville gave him the space to grow, but his Wyoming roots and family-first values are what keep his feet on the ground.

Three Albums, Endless Growth

During his time with Warner Music, Munsick didn’t hold back. “I signed with my record label, Warner Music Nashville, in 2020 and released three full albums in that partnership. I’m thankful for all we learned and accomplished together, however, the time has come for me to fly free,” he explained.

Those albums tell the story of a country artist steadily leveling up while staying true to himself. From his breakout sound that set him apart in “Coyote Cry” (2021), to the heartfelt storytelling in “White Buffalo” (2023), as well as the creative confidence that shines through in “Eagle Feather” (2025), Munsick has proven he’s not afraid to grow and experiment. And now? He’s ready to do it all on his own terms.

Greener Pastures Ahead

What really hit home in his message was the love he showed for the fans. “It is with optimism and gratitude that I have decided to part ways and roam independently. To all the fans: your confidence in me has given me confidence in myself. Thank you and here’s to greener pastures!”

The comments section was flooded with encouragement (i.e. everything from “Fly high Brother!!!” to “Let’s goooo!!!🔥 Saddle up, we ride for Ian at dawn 🦅🐴🇺🇸”) and it’s clear his community is all-in on this next adventure.

Let’s be real: stepping away from a major label is a big move. But if anyone can ride that trail with grit, gratitude, and a whole lot of heart, it’s Ian Munsick. Fans aren’t just cheering him on; they’re ready to follow wherever the music takes him. And from the sound of it, those greener pastures are closer than we think.
