Kacey Musgraves’ upcoming album, “Middle of Nowhere,” is set to be released May 1 2026. Now, ahead of its arrival, the chart-topping “Golden Hour” singer has announced that she is hitting the road for a tour in support of the new LP.
This will serve as Musgraves’ first time hitting the road for an ongoing commitment since 2024’s “Deeper Well World Tour,” which concluded with a stop in Nashville in December of that year. Her most recent album, “Deeper Well: Deeper into the Well,” was also released in 2024 via Interscope/MCA Nashville.
Kacey Musgraves’ ‘Middle of Nowhere’ Tour Begins on Her Birthday
GettyMusgraves announced the forthcoming tour on April 29 by posting to her social media channels. On Instagram, the singer said, “See you in the middle of nowhere.” The post then encouraged fans to sign up for early access.
Regarding ticket sales, she said, “Pre-sale starts Wednesday, May 6 at 10 am local. Tickets on sale Friday, May 8 at 10 am local.” Musgraves then said, “(Tour starts on my birthday!)”
The first stop of Musgraves’ new tour is August 21 in Chicago, Illinois; it will end on October 27 in Seattle, Washington.
She will be accompanied by Midland, Flatland Cavalry, Carter Faith, Estevie, Charles Wesley Godwin, William Beckmann, Gabriella Rose, and The Brudi Brothers on select dates.
Naturally, there were a ton of reactions to the news of the “Middle of Nowhere Tour.” One person said on Instagram, “I AM FREAKING OUT.” Someone else wrote, “Oh my gosh! Can’t wait to see you in Milwaukee.”
In addition, several others are calling for the songstress to add more dates. This is especially true in Florida. One person noted, “y’all made her hate Tampa, Florida.”
She Recently Discussed Her New Album
Musgraves spoke to Variety in April 2026 about “Middle of Nowhere.” Specifically, she began by discussing the writing process, which she says came about during the first time in her adult life she’d been single for a substantial period.
The country music icon said, “I’ve been in this period of learning how to be a single adult for the first time, really, in my adult life, so this was freaky for me. It was kind of like, ‘Oh God, I’m by myself,’ but I really learned how to lean into that: You’re in this weird hallway between what you’re sure about and what you can’t see.
That would’ve freaked me out at any other time, but this time I was like, wait, what if it’s awesome that I don’t know? I let myself hang out in uncomfortability, and I ended up getting totally fucking obsessed with it.”
From there, she described the album as being less campy than her previous offerings. According to her, “I really love camp. But I made a conscious choice to pivot from that, because I didn’t want to be a bumper-sticker songwriter, you know?”
She then reflected on her most recent album, saying, “I do think that ‘Deeper Well’ was super introspective, therapeutic a bit and borderline serious, maybe.
I purposely wanted to lean a little bit away from that, and have more fun with phrasing and humor, which a lot of my earlier songs used to do. It’s been fun to play with that again, because I love laughing, and I really feel like America also needs to laugh.”
Notably, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Musgraves has returned to Lost Highway Records following its relaunch. She was signed to the label until it folded in 2012.
