Country singer Lainey Wilson is welcoming fans right into her home!
In a new video for Architectural Digest’s YouTube page, the ACM Entertainer of the Year opens her front door to AD’s camera, saying “Welcome to my house here in Nashville. Come on in. You don’t even have to kick your boots off.”
And if you’re wondering if Lainey’s “country girl” persona extends to her decor, you don’t have to get very far into the tour to see that it definitely does.
“This is the first home that I’ve designed,” the “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer says in the video. “I feel like I have my fingerprints on everything in this house.”
Lainey Wilson’s Home Showcases Her Love of Cowboy Culture
From cowboy wallpaper to a stained glass window featuring a desert scene with a cactus motif, Lainey Wilson’s love of southwestern design shines through in every room.
Even her stairs carpeted in leopard print are a nod to her country heritage. “I’ve always been a sucker for leopard,” Lainey explains. “My first pair of bell bottoms were blue leopard print, and so I had to have leopard carpet on the stairs.”
Viewers are also introduced to artwork featuring her 31-year-old horse Tex. And they meet her real life dog French bulldog. Lainey scoops the pup up, telling the camera, “This is my baby, Hippie Mae Wilson. This is her house and I’m just living in it.”
In the living room, she shows off curtains made of fabric she had shipped overseas, revealing, “Three different times, the ship had pirates. And I am not even playing. They stole my curtains three different times, and finally the fourth time, we got the fabric over here.”
“They were worth it,” Lainey enthuses. “So, the pirates, they got some good fabric.”
Lainey’s Kitchen Has Hosted Some Big Name Friends
When Lainey Wilson takes Architectural Digest into her kitchen, she reveals that it’s the hub of the home, where she and fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges not only prepare food but where she writes songs and where they entertain some pretty high profile friends.
“I had Miranda Lambert and her husband Brendan over the other night, and me and Duck were cooking for ’em. And right before they got here, I was like ‘is Miranda Lambert really coming to our house?’ Like, that would have been weird if you’d have told me that about ten years ago. Now she’s one of my buddies.”
Lainey says she and Duck love hosting and having people over.
The “Heart Like a Truck” singer reveals that Duck has grilling skills, saying, “He can make a mean steak. And one of my favorite meals is jalepeno poppers and Duck’s steak.”
Lainey Gives Fans a Look Inside Her Bellbottoms-Filled Closet
The 15-minute YouTube video even takes us inside Lainey Wilson’s closet.
And they are full of her signature bellbottoms!
“I’ve always been a sucker for bellbottoms,” Lainey tells AD. “I remember putting them on when I was nine-years-old. And I remember how they made me feel, made me feel sassy, made me feel like I could do anything, and so I never grew out of it.”
As a recent guest on Taste of Country Nights, Wilson admitted she likely owns well over one-thousand pairs of bellbottoms, saying, “I have completely lost count, but, I’ve worn a new pair on stage each time for the past 15 years, so..”
Lainey refers to her style of music as “Bell Bottom Country” and even named her 2022 album that.
She has a bar in Nashville named “Bell Bottoms Up,” where she performs sometimes when she’s in town. And she recently released a single by the same name recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios.
