Viral country singer Mason Ramsey returns from his social media hiatus, sharing details of his “difficult year” after being dropped by his record label.
Mason Ramsey Details His ‘Difficult Year’
The 19-year-old viral yodeling sensation took to TikTok at the start of the new year, as he looks to leave 2025 behind him.
“I took a much needed break from social media so | could get my business and head on straight. I wanted to say thank you for the birthday wishes in November and all the Merry Christmas messages I got in December,” Ramsey captioned a series of photos on Tuesday, January 6. “Last year was one of the most difficult years of my life. My label dropped me, my agency left me and I had to part ways with my manager.”
The Illinois native went on to reveal that he has “brought on a whole new team.”
“[I] have been making music that I have never been more excited about. I can’t wait to share everything I’ve been working on and to get back on the road,” he continued. “I’ll be a lot more active on here so feel free to say hi!”
Prior to his New Year update, Ramsey wiped his Instagram profile clean.
“In the studio…be right back,” his bio reads.
Ramsey rose to internet fame in 2018 after a video of him yodeling Hank Williams’ “Lovesick Blues” inside an Illinois Walmart went viral. Then 11 years old, his life was instantly changed as he went on to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, perform at Coachella alongside DJ Whethan, and sign a deal with Atlantic Records.
Still just a kid, he would later make his Grand Ole Opry debut, perform at the Grammys alongside Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, and see his debut single, 2018’s “Famous”, reach No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Country Charts.
