Nat Myers is opening up about his ongoing battle with cancer, sharing a deeply personal update as he continues treatment and asks fans to keep him in their prayers.
In a message shared on social media, the country and blues artist reflected on the reality of his journey, gently clarifying that while he has returned to performing, his fight is still ongoing.
Getty“Howdy y’all,” he wrote. “I ain’t posted an update about my fight in a while. I been getting back to some aspect of rambling & some of y’all might think I’m through, or in remission. That’s my fault or not clarifying what’s been going on. My story is a long song, and I doubt it will ever end with ranging a bell.”
Singer Reveals Rare Diagnosis and Tumor in Pulmonary Artery
Nat Myers revealed that he has been diagnosed with intimal sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that forms in the inner lining of large blood vessels or the heart.
“The main thing is in my pulmonary artery,” he wrote.
“If that sounds stressful, it’s cuz it is. I have undergone dozens of chemo infusions since I was first diagnosed in 2025, including red devil, ifosfamide, and until recently a combo called gem-tax. I received eleven cycles of gem-tax before fluid buildup in my lungs last month led us to change things up.”
Even amid the demanding treatments, Myers offered a steady and honest update on his condition.
“My cancer, which shrank significantly at first, is still shrinking, but only slightly, and is considered stable,” he wrote.
“My doctors seem confident, based on my scans, that this switch-up will probably work. But when and if it doesn’t, there is a number of successive treatments they have in mind for me.”
Continuing to Perform While Undergoing Treatment
Even as he continues treatment, Nat Myers has found his way back to the stage, returning to select performances and preparing for an upcoming appearance opening for Gary Clark Jr.
Alongside his work, he expressed deep gratitude to the doctors and medical teams guiding his care, as well as to the evolving treatment options that give him hope.
“While I’m still on standard protocol, both the James & MSK have discovered new treatments that are in the pipeline once standard protocol runs course,” he wrote.
“A year ago, a lot of y’all were watching me just beginning to hope I could get one more year. A year on, I don’t think you blame me that I want more than just that now. I feel rabid as a dog and bluer than a jay sometimes. It is a privilege beyond description to be here.”
‘A Prayer Goes a Long Way’ as He Looks Ahead With Hope
Nat Myers closed his message with a deeply personal reflection on survival, resilience, and the support that continues to carry him through.
“Every moment, I live life again,” he wrote.
“I spent too much time filling my veins with bad blood. I am not foolish to the reality this is a long haul, but this thing ain’t killed me fast enough. I mighta been in the bogies, but I’m back to par and I ain’t never going back, if I have my way. But a prayer goes a long way, and I can use all the luck you can spare for all the trouble that come my way.”
Myers first shared his diagnosis in February 2025, revealing that what he initially thought was a lingering lung infection had developed into a serious condition involving growth near his heart and pulmonary artery.
As fans continue to rally around him, he is facing the road ahead with honesty, grit, and a quiet determination to keep moving forward, one day at a time.
