Candace Cameron Bure Opens Up About How She Handles Feuds & Controversies

Candace Cameron Bure has discovered the perfect way to handle online feuds and controversies. The “Dancing With the Stars” alum shares her genius approach to dealing with these touchy situations without wasting her emotional energy.

Candace Cameron Bure Reveals How She Navigates Online Feuds & Controversies

During a November 17 appearance on the “Stay True Podcast,” Bure shared how she handles backlash and stays out of feuds and controversies online, noting that there is some “self-control” involved.

“With a lot of patience, honestly, and grace for people, for others. It takes self-control,” she shared.

Bure continued, “And I pray the Holy Spirit gives me self-control every day, especially in those situations, ’cause it feels brutal because you can’t win. You can’t please both sides — you just can’t. So there has to be a point in your life where you just let it go.”

She also shared that many times the situation is “not a feud on my end,” but rather “just weird.”

“I usually don’t fight back in the comments because nothing really comes from it,” she explained.

Bure noted, “I feel like when you fight back in the comments, it becomes defensive. I feel like the more people defend themselves, the less integrity it holds.”

The actress added, “I let God fight my battles a lot online.”

The “Full House” alum continued, “I also let the other people who are genuine fans fight my battles for me too. Because sometimes they come in and they’re like, ‘She doesn’t do that. That’s not what she meant by that.'”

“It just takes that self-control that you’re like, ‘God, I just have to let that go ’cause I’m not gonna please everybody, and just help me walk my walk that is honoring and pleasing to you as best that I can. Help me learn and discern,'” Bure explained. “That’s the biggest thing.”

Bure Removed a Revealing Photo From Social Media

Bure recently made another move to maintain her sanity online. After receiving some pushback about posting a swimsuit photo on Instagram in September 2025, the actress removed it.

When a fan asked on her Instagram Stories, “Did you post a bikini photo like yesterday then take it down?,” she responded, “Yes. I was at the beach. I was in a one piece, not a bikini. I am soaking up the end of the summer. I was having fun.”

The actress continued, “It wasn’t about my bathing suit or my body. But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body. It wasn’t worth it. I took it down.”

In a November 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Bure discussed the situation, explaining, “People are always going to have an opinion, and sometimes you forget that for a moment because you’re like, ‘Hey, happy moment. Gonna share something.'”

She noted, “And then you’re like, ‘Oh, why did I share it?'”

The actress explained, “In that case, I just felt like it was easier to take it down, because I don’t need to have controversy over it. I don’t need for people to pick apart my body.”

“I’m like, ‘That’s fine, you can have an opinion. I’m just going to take it away so you don’t get to say what you want about that part of my life.’ And that’s fine,” Bure added.
