Jennifer Lopez Receives Plaque to Commemorate Major Career Milestone

Jennifer Lopez shared that she received a super special delivery from Spotify. The iconic singer and former “American Idol” judge unboxed the gift in a video that she posted to Instagram, revealing that she was sent a plaque to commemorate her hugely popular dance hit “On The Floor” accumulating a whopping one billion streams on Spotify alone.

While wearing a comfortable white sleeveless top and light khaki trousers, Jennifer beamed with joy in the video when she realized what she had opened. Reading the back of the plaque while it was still facing downwards in the box, JLo said: “What is it? ‘Jennifer Lopez congratulations on hitting one billion…’ Awww one billion streams! That’s cute, do they do this?! I didn’t even know they [Spotify] do this.

“For “On The Floor”! On Spotify only, right? Thank you Spotify, how great is that. That’s amazing. It’s a new Jeneration… of party people. I love it. Thank you!!!”

The front of the plaque boasted the number one million as well as the title of the song and Jennifer’s name. Pitbull’s name was also on the plaque, as he collaborated with JLo on the song.

Jennifer penned a similar caption alongside the post, writing: “It’s a new Jeneration of party people… in the Billions club. Thank you for dancing with me!” She also tagged the official Instagram accounts of Spotify and Pitbull.

JLo also added “On The Floor” as the audio of the video, so while fans were watching the track played in the background the entire time.

Fans watching the video felt so proud of JLo and rushed to the post’s comments section to extend their praise and congratulations. One user said: “Congratulations!!!! Unstoppable!”

A second shared: “Contributed at least 20 million well deserved.”

Meanwhile others added “Absolutely deserved! Keep shining, queen,” “Dancing your way into the billions. Congratulations!”, “QUEEN ICON LEGEND”, and “That song is a banger.”

“On The Floor” featuring Pitbull came out in 2011 as the lead single from JLo’s album called “Love?”. The song sings of letting go of your woes and worries, instead dancing and losing yourself to the beat of the music pounding on the dance floor.

The song was a major success commercially, topping the charts in 15 countries and selling millions of copies worldwide. Some notable achievements that “On The Floor” made include reaching the number three spot on the U.S Billboard Hot 100, being named the best-selling single of 2011 by a female artist globally, and becoming certified triple-platinum.

A month after its original release Jennifer dropped an accompanying music video which to date has accumulated just shy of 3 billion views. It’s the most watched video on JLo’s YouTube channel, which has 17.7 million followers. Her next most viewed is the music video for her decade-old track “Ain’t Your Mama” which has just over 940 million views to date.

We wish Jennifer Lopez every congratulations on the major success of her hit and for receiving the award. I can’t wait to see what she gets up to next!
