Ryan Lochte‘s estranged wife, Kayla Reid Lochte, filed for divorce in March. This week, she shared a video that gave an insight into her feelings about their split and highlighted her heartbreak.
Kayla Reid Lochte Shares Wedding Day Video
Lochte competed on “Dancing with the Stars” Season 23 alongside professional dance partner Cheryl Burke in 2016. Nine years later, he is going through a heartbreaking split from Reid, the mother of his three children. Reid posted a video on Instagram on December 11 from their wedding day, which shows Lochte reciting their wedding vows. It is a romantic and beautiful moment, and how different things are now.
In his vows, Lochte tells Reid how grateful he is to her for putting her “own dreams on hold” to help him, including supporting him in the 2016 Rio Olympics. “Standing by my side during Rio was proof that you love me more than I could ever imagined,” he told her. “Those were the darkest days of my life, and I thank God every day that I have you to pick me up. You kept me going. You pushed me to set new goals, and you gave me a reason to live.”
At the time, the pair had been incredibly in love, with Lochte vowing to always remind his bride of how much she means to him and how he was in the marriage for better or worse. That he knew there was no way I could go a day without her by his side. “Today, as we continue our story, I am confident that no matter what ups and downs we face, as long as we are together on this journey, and I’m in charge of the directions, we will always make it home,” he said in tears. In the caption, Reid wrote a cryptic message. “Just going to leave this here,” she wrote.
