Derek Hough Serenades His Baby Daughter With Heart-Melting Piano Song [VIDEO]

On Thursday, February 6, Derek Hough melted hearts everywhere with a sweet and beautiful piano song he performed for his 5-week-old daughter, Everley Capri.

In the sweet video, Derek sits in a softly lit room while cradling the infant in one arm and using his other hand to play along on the piano to his beautiful tune. Dressed in a white tank top and jeans, the “Dancing With the Stars” icon sings, “Love at first sight, hospital lights, that was the day that changed my life. Five little fingers wrapped around mine, that’s when I knew that I would love you till the day that I die.”

The 40-year-old captioned his post, “Leaving my girls for the weekend and I already miss them. Before I left, played a song for my little one.” He shared that he came across the verse by the musicians JVKE and Zac Lawson, calling them “stunning fellas.” He added, “Forgive the rough pitch, just a dad trying to sing his little girl to sleep.”

Derek’s Friends & Fans Loved His Mini Performance

Everyone gushed over Derek’s adorable piano performance. First, his wife, “DWTS” troupe member Hayley Erbert, showed her admiration, writing, “My loves” before adding a heart.

Derek’s longtime “DWTS” costar Sasha Farber, who announced his departure from the lineup of pros in September 2025, joked, “She’s like dude, I’m trying to sleep.”

“Thank you so much for singing our song. This is so precious,” wrote Zac Lawson, showing his gratitude for the shoutout.

Shirley Ballas, the mother of 3-time “DWTS” winner Mark Ballas, chimed in to leave a string of fire and heart emojis.

Derek’s fans enjoyed the song as much as his friends did. One encouraged him not to worry about the pitchiness in his exhausted new-dad voice, writing, “It was absolutely perfect and that’s all that matters! Your little girl is very lucky have you!” Another remarked, “Can you do everything? Sing, play the piano, dance, what else?”

Derek Hough Recently Interviewed Margot Robbie About ‘Wuthering Heights’

A couple of days ago in early February 2026, Hough had a chat with Margot Robbie about her new film with “Euphoria” phenom Jacob Elordi, “Wuthering Heights.” The spot was a part of his Extra TV hosting duties.

Robbie told Derek she credits writer and director Emerald Fennell for how well the film came together. She said, “It’s all come from Emerald. This is more of an interpretation than an adaptation, I would say. I think she’s trying to give audiences the feeling that the book gave her when she read it for the first time when she was fourteen.”

The film has come under fire from some fans for drastically deviating from the novel and embracing shock value, but other fans are happy with direction. One pointed out in a Reddit discussion, “Plenty of movies were inspired by literature and not straight adaptations, that are well-liked.”
