Robert Irwin Gives Update on Dog’s Health After Surgery
On October 17, Irwin took to Instagram to share an update about his pug, Stella.
“I wanted to give a health update on our sweet Stella! I am really happy to say that her results came back and it looks like her operation was successful and her cancer was completely removed,” he wrote in the caption.
Irwin added, “I’m SO relieved and happy that she is doing well. Thank you for all of your kind messages and well wishes for her.”
This news comes on the heels of Irwin’s original post about Stella’s health scare. On October 12, Irwin took to Instagram to write, “This is a tough one. I wanted to give an unfortunate update on my sweet little pup, Stella.”
He continued, “A mass was discovered that ended up being cancerous. We still don’t know the full extent of the cancer.”
The “DWTS” star shared, “I have faith she’ll be in the clear. She is such an important part of our little fam, so it’s been stressful to say the least being away from home and away from her while she goes through this.”
“I know you guys love seeing her and I love sharing her with you so wanted to give an update … she is doing ok post-surgery so far, she’s my little bestie & one tough cookie,” Irwin added.
His mom, Terri, took to Instagram earlier in the week to ask for prayers for Stella. “Our dear little, squishy Stella has had surgery for two cancerous tumours,” she wrote in the caption. “She came through the operation, so now we wait to find out if all the cancer was successfully removed.”
Irwin’s mom added, “She is getting the best care with one of our friends, but I know Robert is having a hard time being so far away from her. Your prayers would be much appreciated.”
