Susan Lucci Gives New Hope for ‘All My Children’ Reboot: ‘It’s Bubbling As We Speak’

Susan Lucci hinted that a possible “All My Children” revival could come to fruition. In January 2026, the beloved actress and “Dancing with the Stars” Season 7 alum shared details on CBS’s Soapy podcast more than a decade after the original series ended its 41-year run.

“It’s been bubbling for several years,” Lucci, 79, said of a potential reboot plan. “And then just when I think that it probably isn’t bubbling anymore, it’s bubbling. It’s bubbling as we speak.”

Lucci played Pine Valley diva Erica Kane from 1970 to 2011, appearing in more than 1700 episodes of the ABC daytime drama, per IMDb. She eventually won an Emmy Award for the role,

“Still to this day, people will ask me, ‘Do you miss it?’“ the actress shared of her longtime role. “Yeah, I miss the character, of course. And I miss being part of that fantastic team. … Yes, it’s a long time, but it was a new play every day, a new script for a character that was spectacular, I found her to be.”

Kelly Ripa Was Behind a Potential AMC Reboot

Before becoming the host of “Live With Kelly and Mark,” Kelly Ripa played Hayley Vaughan Santos on “All My Children.”  In 2020, there were talks for Ripa and her husband, Mark Conseulos, to develop an “AMC” revival titled “Pine Valley,” after the name of the fictional Pennsylvania town featured in “All My Children.” More recently, TV Line reported that the beloved soap could get a new life on Lifetime.

Ripa told Soapy she never stopped working on the “Pine Valley” project.

“We’ve been working on it for so long,” Ripa said. “It’s really out of our hands. … It’s like one of those things where you get something off the ground and then oh there’s corporate structuring, there’s new management, and then the project falls down and then there’s like renewed interest and then oh the person championing this was let go and you’re like ‘oh no.’”

“So it’s like one of these things that has never gone away,” she said.

Lucci previously spoke about the “All My Children” reboot after Ripa’s project was announced. The actress told Good Housekeeping that she would love to reprise her iconic role. “Yes, of course I would,” she confirmed. “And I would hope it would be more than a cameo, because that part was really wonderful, and I miss playing her.”

For now, Lucci is focusing on her follow-up memoir, “La Lucci,” which will be released on Feb. 3, 2026. “The first memoir that I wrote was 15 years ago, and it was called ‘All My Life.’ And I realized it was not ‘All My Life,’” the soap legend admitted on the podcast. “And so there have been milestones since then. And I also include some of the milestones in my life that were beforehand, so people can know who it is they’re listening to or reading about and where I’m coming from.”
