Dennis Quaid Opens Up About ‘Parent Trap’ Co-Stars Lindsay Lohan & the Late Natasha Richardson

Dennis Quaid appeared in 1998’s “The Parent Trap” with a young Lindsay Lohan and the now-late Natasha Richardson. Now, almost 30 years later, the actor has opened up about his thoughts and feelings about his former co-stars as well as his current relationship with Lohan.

“The film (a remake of a 1961 Disney classic) follows identical twins who were separated at birth, reunite by accident at a summer camp and decide to switch places to reunite their unsuspecting parents, and premiered on July 20, 1998,” according to People.

The movie quickly became a fan favorite, with Quaid talking about the film’s success during a new interview with Out of Order, saying, “There’s a whole generation of kids that were 8 years old at the time, who saw the movie 42 times on VHS and their kids rented it with their kids now, it turned out to be the most watched film of anything I’ve ever done.”

Still loved by fans today, that’s why you’re surely interested in what Quaid has to say about his former co-stars.

Dennis Says there Was Something ‘Magical’ About Natasha

“My heart breaks every time,” Quaid said while talking about Richardson — who passed away in 2009 at the age of 45 — in the interview which was shared on Instagram. He added, “Natasha, she was just, what an incredible person.”

“If there’s anybody I would want to work with again, it’d be her,” Quaid continued. “She was a great person, besides being an amazing actor to work with. The way she went was hell.”

He went on to say that Richardson had “a charm to her and just her relationship with her own kids, that she brought also to [set]. There’s just something magical about her.”

“She’s just present when you’re working with her,” Quaid also said. “[I] really miss her.”

Dennis Remembers Lindsay as ‘Completely Fearless’

When the “Parent Trap” hit theaters, per People, it “introduced us to a young Lindsay Lohan, then just 12, who earned rave reviews for her ability to convincingly play both characters — one with a British accent!”

In another part of the new interview, Quaid recalled what Lohan was like while making the film, saying, “She came to [the] screen test and I think she was 11, and wow — I couldn’t believe it. She just had such control over her talent and what she was doing and during the shooting. She had me believing there were two girls. She was completely fearless.”

As for their relationship nowadays, Quaid said, “She sent a video wishing me a happy birthday yesterday.”
