A new video clip teasing the upcoming Miley Cyrus “Hannah Montana” 20th anniversary special has just dropped, and it’s packed with feel-good nostalgia.
Cyrus is back as the beloved rock star character Hannah Montana, and she’s brought some special memories with her. In the upcoming Disney+ special, fans can expect appearances from familiar faces that made the original series so unforgettable.

Disney+ dropped the special’s first teaser, where Cyrus revisits the character that made her a global superstar. In the clip, the entertainer wears the character’s iconic blonde wig and clothing and steps into a recreated series set.
The clip began as Cyrus walked down the halls of the fictional Seaview High School, where Miley Stewart was a student alongside best pals Lilly Truscott (Emily Osment) and Oliver Owen (Mitchel Musso). She says, “Already getting emotional,” as the segment begins.
Featured in the clip is “Call Her Daddy” podcast host, Alix Earle, who tells the entertainer during a sit-down segment that the series “defined a generation.” Also appearing is Cyrus’ mother, Tish, and father, Billy Ray, who played Robby Ray Stewart, Miley’s dad.
A Disney press release stated that the special was filmed in front of a live studio audience. It reads, “With heartfelt nostalgia and fresh perspective, Cyrus revisits the moments, music, and memories that defined an era. Viewers will be treated to never-before-seen archival footage, while some of the most memorable sets from “Hannah Montana” are brought back to life — including the Stewart family living room and the legendary Hannah Montana closet.”
‘Hannah Montana Will Always Be Part of Who I Am’ Says Miley Cyrus
The former “Voice” coach says that the character of Hannah Montana will always have a special place in her heart. She said in a press statement, “‘Hannah Montana’ will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection.”
She added, “The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
Miley Cyrus’s influence led to an induction into the Disney Legend Hall of Fame at the D3 2024. She was the event’s youngest legend recipient.
In her acceptance speech, Cyrus stated, “I’m the one that tells you what you’re not supposed to know. And what I want to say is that legends get scared, too. I’m scared right now, but the difference is we do it anyway, and all of you can do that every single day. It’s legendary to be afraid and do it anyway. There is no such thing as failure when you try.”
The “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” airs on Disney+ on March 24.
