After Billy Idol took to the runway during 2026 Paris Fashion Week, another star stepped up to the stage. “The X-Files” star Gillian Anderson made waves by appearing at — and closing — the Miu Miu Fall 2026 show.
Getty“Anderson helped Miu Miu initiate a naked dressing ‘vibe shift’ (as fashion features editor Emma Childs called it) in a nude sheath. Below its square neckline—and peach-colored, peekaboo bralette—the front profile boasted hundreds of gold and silver sequins,” according to Marie Claire. “It was a clear manifestation of Prada’s standout show note: ‘garments embrace the body.’ To finish, Anderson’s brown high-vamp heels blended in with the mossy grass-turned-catwalk.”
To finish the look, WWD notes that Anderson “strut down the catwalk with her muddy blond hair styled in a zig zag headband à la Willow Rosenberg in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer.’ Similar to the early 2000s butterfly clip trend, the headband brushed Anderson’s front layers away from her face like fingers running through her hair.”
Other famous faces also popped up in the show, including Chloe Sevigny, Gemma Ward and Kristen McMenamy. In fact, W Magazine notes that Sevigny “hit the grass-covered catwalk exactly three decades after making her Miu Miu runway debut.”
Fans Called Gillian Anderson a ‘Legend’
Anderson took to Instagram to post about her part in the event, and added a caption, writing, “What an honour to close the @miumiu show. Still pinching myself. Thank you for having me.”
Her post prompted plenty of comments, with one person writing, “Gillian, you are on Fire 🔥🔥🔥”
Another fan added, “She’s an icon she’s a legend and she is the moment!!!!”
Getty“Gillian Anderson: actress, author, entrepreneur, director, producer, FASHION MODEL,” came from a third follower.
Someone else left a comment, saying, “Absolute frikin legend you looked so stunning!!”
Gillian Anderson Made More Style Statements During the Event
Along with the look that Anderson wore to close the Miu Miu show, she was also spotted wearing a light blue dress shirt, dark blue cardigan and long plaid skirt.
That’s not to mention the fact that “[o]nce Anderson retreated backstage, she changed out of nearly every Miu Miu design apart from her noughties-coded comb headband,” Marie Claire explained. However, she wasn’t done proving that she’s a truly fashionable figure. “From there, she bundled up in moody neutrals, including a navy-and-red take on the argyle sweater trend. Contrasting diamonds cascaded from the navy turtleneck down to the hem—a subtle endorsement of Spring 2026’s rising tomato color trend.”
“She paired the spring knit with anti-preppy, black skinny jeans, tucked into distressed moto boots,” per Marie Claire. “A shoulder-padded, navy blue coat married the contrasting aesthetics together with ease. It signaled quite a stark shift from the crinkly blazers, leather jackets, and fur-trimmed windbreakers shown on the runway just minutes prior, though.”
