Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, made their Met Gala debut during the annual gathering on Monday, May 4.
While the Meta founder is tech-forward, he and his wife looked stunning as they dressed to the nines for the special fashion event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Chan wore a bold red gown designed with a turtleneck neckline. The dress featured long sleeves and a billowy bottom half that draped to her feet in layers.
Zuckerberg wore a classic black and white tuxedo with a snazzy bow tie — the perfect complement to the simplicity of Chan’s eye-popping gown.

At one point during the evening, the self-made billionaire and Chan posed for photos with Olympic figure skater Alysa Liu, who won gold at the 2026 Winter Games, placing first in both the women’s singles skate and the team event.
Liu looked beautiful in a strapless wine-toned gown. The dress cascaded into soft layers, giving both depth and texture.
Zuckerberg’s company Meta purchased a table at this year’s Met Gala. Individual tickets for the event are marked at $100,000, while tables are priced at $350,000, Fashion United reported.
The evolutionary figure isn’t the only tech giant that attended the prestigious gala, either. OpenAI and Snapchat also purchased tables at the gala, the outlet reported. The tech giants were in good company, as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez, also joined the star-studded crowd.
Bezos and Sánchez served as honorary chairs at the 2026 Met Gala, where they stepped up as the gala’s lead sponsors, Page Six reported.
Notably, the Met Gala is held as a fundraiser for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, where 490,000+ pieces of artwork from all around the world are displayed, showcasing 5,000 years of culture, history and global art, according to the official Met Museum website.
What Is the Met Gala?
Money raised helps to support the museum’s exhibitions, acquisitions and operations. From preserving methods to keeping the lights on and more, the millions of dollars raised during the annual gala aid in fortifying some of the world’s most dignified — and teachable — moments in history.
The Costume Institute holds a collection of artifacts ranging from ancient Egyptian art, European paintings, antique weapons of complex design and more. In the American wing, a painting of General George Washington crossing the icy Delaware River is spotlighted, highlighting the monumental victory in the Battle of Trenton during the Revolutionary War. In the European Paintings wing, several of Vincent Van Gogh’s works of art are kept, including his 1885 painting The Potato Peeler (reverse: Self-Portrait with a Straw Hat). Another notable artifact is the world’s oldest surviving Bartolomeo Cristofori’s grand piano (1720). The piano was made in Florence, Italy, and features a hammer mechanism that creates a distinctive volume control that no longer exists in today’s piano designs.
Influential leaders such as Zuckerberg, Bezos and likeminded inventors making their presence during the biggest night in fashion at the Met Gala marks a strong shift in the direction of fashion — and technology.
Affluent individuals like Zuckerberg, who launched Facebook in 2004, changing the digital sphere as we know it, mingling with film and television’s most famous celebrities, helps to put into perspective just how influential fashion and technology can be when they merge together.
