Aaron Pierre Confirms He’s Single and Says Fans’ Attention “Makes Me Smile”

Aaron Pierre is officially single. The 32-year-old actor confirmed his relationship status during an appearance on Today. The revelation came after Jenna Bush-Hager mentioned his reputation as “the internet’s boyfriend” and a “heartthrob.” His answer drew cheers from the studio audience, just as Ricky Martin’s touching tribute as his twins turn 18 also drew attention from fans.

Aaron Pierre Confirms He’s Single

According to People, Bush-Hager asked Pierre if he was single. He gave a simple answer: “I am!” The crowd responded with cheers.

Pierre then explained where his attention is going right now.

“I’m just very locked into being the best father I can be.”

According to GQ, Aaron Pierre has one young son, but has chosen to keep his name and age private.

He also wants to be “the best artist” he can be.

The comment gave some context to his current priorities. His answer was not about pursuing a new relationship. Instead, he pointed toward his family and his growing career.

Pierre was previously linked to Teyana Taylor. The pair confirmed their relationship in June 2025. That came after months of flirting online.

The same month, Pierre appeared in Taylor’s music video for her song “Long Time.” Around six months later, the pair had reportedly split. The reason for their reported breakup was not made public.

Fans’ Attention “Makes Me Smile”

As reported by People, Aaron Pierre also addressed the attention he has received from fans. Bush-Hager told him about the “internet’s boyfriend” nickname and called him a heartthrob.

Pierre responded with a laugh. “We’re all only human,” he said. He admitted that the attention was “warmly received.”

“I’m very appreciative of it,” Pierre added.

“It definitely makes me smile.”

The timing also comes as Aaron Pierre enters another major stage of his career. His profile has grown considerably over the past few years.

Heading Into a Major DC Role

Pierre is now stepping into one of his biggest roles yet as John Stewart in DC’s “Lanterns.” Pierre stars opposite Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan. Their characters are paired as Green Lantern recruits who become caught up in a murder investigation in the American heartland.

For Pierre, landing the role was a major career moment. He described it as “a dream come true” and described his character as “beautifully dynamic and complex,” according to People.

Aaron Pierre’s Career Keeps Expanding

The superhero role comes after a busy few years for the actor. In 2024, Pierre took on the lead role of Terry Richmond in Netflix’s “Rebel Ridge.” The film follows Terry as he becomes entangled in a dangerous conflict in a small town.

Pierre also showed off his voice acting and musical talents that year in Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King.” Released in December 2024, the film saw him voice the title character. The role also gave Pierre another opportunity to showcase his musical abilities. According to the film’s soundtrack credits, he performed “I Always Wanted A Brother” and “We Go Together.”

Pierre’s music credits go back further. In M. Night Shyamalan’s 2021 horror thriller “Old,” he appeared as Mid-Sized Sedan. He also wrote and performed the song “More Dough for the Cookin'” for the movie.

The actor is also moving into the Star Wars universe as part of the announced cast of “Star Wars: Starfighter.” The Lucasfilm feature is scheduled for a theatrical release in May 2027.

For now, though, Aaron Pierre is enjoying a moment that has little to do with his superhero or “Star Wars” roles. He has confirmed that he is single and made clear that he appreciates the fans who have embraced him as “the internet’s boyfriend.”

With “Lanterns” arriving soon, the attention is unlikely to slow down. Aaron Pierre appears ready to handle it while staying focused on fatherhood, music and acting. Meanwhile, Kyle Chandler showed off his distinguished gray-haired look at Comic-Con as he prepares for his role as Hal Jordan in “Lanterns.”
