Robert Pattinson Gets Candid About ‘Significantly Harder’ Batman Return

Production on DC Studios’ “The Batman: Part II” is underway, following the blockbuster success of the first film in 2022. Now, amid filming, the movie’s star, Robert Pattinson, is opening up about the grueling nature of the film and revealing that some of the action scenes are more challenging than when he was younger. This comes as he’s promoting “Primetime,” his upcoming A24 film focusing on Chris Hansen.

Currently, “The Batman: Part II” is set for release on February 18, 2028, after being pushed back a third time. The movie was originally scheduled for release in October 2025.

Pattinson opened up in an interview with GQ India about “The Batman: Part II” while promoting his new movie, “Primetime.” He said of the upcoming Matt Reeves-directed film, “It’s good. I’m definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot. I’m literally like, ‘Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.'” For context, Pattinson is 40.

The “Primetime” star then said, “It’s really fun. And I think the movie’s going to be pretty great. It’s got a really, really fun cast, but it’s a marathon.”

During the interview, Pattinson also discussed his partnership with watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre and how he will wear one of the pieces in “The Batman.” Notably, this comes after Christian Bale wore one of the watches in Christopher Nolan’s Batman films.

Pattinson said, “When I was just starting to look them up and trying to decide which model to have for it, I realized that Christian had them as well. It is weird—as soon as you put the Reverso on, it definitely has a Bruce Wayne feel.”

The actor added, “There’s something that felt so incredibly correct for it, even the strap we chose. It’s the last thing I put on when you put the costume on, and there’s a guy who’s looking after the watch, and it all feels extremely Bruce Wayne-coded.”

Pattinson also discussed “The Batman: Part II” during a red-carpet interview with Deadline in March 2026. This came as he was attending the premiere of his film, “The Drama.” He said of what fans can expect, “The script is extraordinary. I think it’s going to be a really, really special movie and very, very different.”

The “Lighthouse” star continued, “It’s going to be interesting seeing it come out. It’s taking some big swings.” In addition to Pattinson, Collin Farrell, who also appears in the film, praised the script during a “Happy Sad Confused” podcast appearance.

He said of it, “I had many thoughts to share with Matt about the script. I really do think it’s a masterwork. Kind of a contemporary genre masterwork. It’s so brilliant, and Robert has got such a lovely journey to go on and take the audience through.”

The Actor Also Discussed ‘Primetime’

A24’s “Primetime,” in which Pattinson portrays “To Catch a Predator” host Hansen, will be released on September 25. He spoke about the movie during his GQ India interview, sharing how he mastered Hansen’s voice.

Pattinson recalled, “He has a podcast discussing his old cases, and I was just walking around constantly trying to imitate his voice, but it’s pretty dark material.” He continued, “I’m wandering around the streets saying what he’s talking about, and people are incredibly confused with what’s going on.”
