Stephen Amell Shares Family Vacation Photos With the Perfect Reaction to 112°F Texas Heat

Stephen Amell may have been having a great time on his family vacation in Texas, but there was one part of the trip that clearly left him questioning his life choices: the temperature.

The DC star recently took to Instagram to share a slideshow of photos from his family’s trip to Austin, Texas, and yep, it looks like they packed plenty of fun into their time away.

Amell kept the caption for his Instagram post short, but it perfectly summed up his experience:

“Texas in August, the place water stops working.”

Honestly, anyone who has spent a Texas summer knows exactly what he is talking about.

Stephen Amell Shares a Look at His Family Vacation

Amell spent time with his kids, hung out by the lake, checked out the Texas Rodeo, and even showed off a bottled lemonade featuring his friend and WWE star Cody Rhodes.

And that caught the attention of some fans. One person joked about the wrestling connection, writing:

“Call-back that Cody match 👀”

Another fan was more interested in getting an invite to the lake:

“When you gonna invite us out to the lake!?”

Other fans focused on Amell being a dad:

“the interwebs dad of the year 🔥🙏🏻”

“Role of father looks really good on you! ❤️🙌”

There was also plenty of love for his work, particularly “Arrow.”

“Arrow !!! Rewatching the series, Final season ou last season. Very very good.”

Someone else seemed sad that the Arrowverse had ended sharing a simple:

“The Flash tag 😩”

It seems like fans were just as happy to see Amell enjoying some quality time with his family as they were to see the actor share another glimpse into his life outside of Hollywood.

Several people also sent their well wishes for the family’s trip, including one fan who wrote:

“Love these pics 😍. Have fun in Austin”

“Thanks for sharing these incredible happy moments with your fans. Loved always and appreciated ❤️❤️🔥🔥”

The Texas Heat is Clearly No Joke

Then came slide six, where Amell shared a photo of the car dashboard showing a temperature of 112°F. And honestly, we’re surprised he didn’t quote his role as The Green Arrow and tell the heat, “You have failed this city.

But, his response was simple and probably pretty relatable to anyone who has ever experienced a Texas summer:

“WTF.”

Let’s be real, 112°F is not exactly the kind of vacation weather most people dream about.

For people who have never been to Texas, summer temperatures can be a completely different experience, particularly when the temperatures climb into the triple digits. And considering Amell is a Canadian, who lives in California, it is easy to understand why the temperature caught his attention.

Fans living in Texas were quick to let him know that the heat was nothing new, though.

“welcome to Texas, its literally been around 105 degrees here 😭”

Another Texas resident chimed in saying:

“Enjoying the August heat in Texas? My ac struggles lmao!”

Honestly, they were not exactly wrong.

Even with the brutal temperatures, Amell’s photos made it clear that the family was having a good time. Between the lake, the rodeo, and spending time together, the vacation looked like a pretty great summer getaway.

It seems like the 112°F temperature was just one memorable part of the trip, even if it was probably the part Amell will remember the most.

What Has Stephen Amell Been Up To?

While Amell remains best known for playing Oliver Queen on The CW’s “Arrow,” his career started years before he became the Green Arrow.

The actor made his television debut with guest appearances on “Queer as Folk” in 2004. He went on to appear in shows including “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” “Beautiful People,” “Dante’s Cove,” “Flashpoint,” “Heartland,” and “The Vampire Diaries,” among others.

Amell also appeared in the Hallmark movie “When Calls the Heart,” which served as the basis for the network’s popular television series.

He and his real-life cousin, Robbie Amell (yep, the one who was on “The Flash”), starred in “Code 8,” which they crowdfunded together, then partnered with Netflix for “Code 8: Part II.” The films explore a world where people with special abilities are heavily controlled. Fans have been hoping to see a third movie, particularly after the cousins teased the possibility of “Part III” in 2024, per CBR. However, there has not been an official announcement of another installment.

More recently, Amell appeared in “Suits LA,” “Little Lorraine,” and “The Borderline.”

And he has another big role coming up. In 2027, Amell is set to lead the “Baywatch” reboot as adult Hobie Buchannon, the son of Mitch Buchannon, the character originally played by David Hasselhoff in the original series.

IMDb also lists Amell as starring in the upcoming film “86,” alongside his real-life wife, Cassandra Jean Amell, which is in post-production.

So, yep, Amell has plenty happening professionally, but it is nice to see him taking some time to enjoy life with his family, too. Let’s be real, a family vacation that includes a rodeo, a lake, and plenty of time together sounds pretty great. Just maybe not the 112°F part.
