What do stars like Demi Moore and Paris Hilton have in common? They love a stunning sheer dress. The same can apparently be said about Olivia Munn who recently attended the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala In West Hollywood on November 8 in a see-through gown.
Showing up in a full-length black piece, the entire dress was loose and flowed around the star. Of course, the most notable part of the gown was the fact that it was see-through. Made up of a sheer black fabric, only the section around Olivia’s bossom included extra fabric to offer some modest coverage. Underneath, she wore a pair of black panties.
GettyOlivia took to Instagram to mark the event, writing, “An incredible night at the Baby2Baby gala. Thank you @norahweinstein and @kellysawyer for everything you do. The biggest thank you to @paulmitchell for sponsoring this evening for the last 10 years. Such an incredibly generous company and family. A night where everything is donated— from the chairs to the candles— so that every dollar raised goes directly to helping children in need. And what a night it was— a record $18million was raised last night. ❤️❤️”
She added, “Styled by @yaelquint in @ninaricci by @harris_reed SS26. Photos by @marcoaroman.”
GettyOlivia’s Old Style ‘Read More Prom Dress than Couture’
Olivia may be willing to follow popular fashion trends these days; however, in the past, she had her own certain style.
“For her initial red-carpet entrée, she usually appeared in public as the funny, hot girl, in slinky dresses, crop tops, statement necklaces, and strappy heels,” according to Vanity Fair.
They offered some examples, writing, “Case in point: at the 2006 US Weekly Hot Hollywood Awards, she sported a glittery tunic, mid-calf tights, and gold heels; in 2008, at High Times magazine’s Stony Awards, she wore a fairy tale-esque, royal-blue dress with puff sleeves that read more prom dress than couture.”
Getty“Those older style choices reflect comedian, but unless you want to be a comedian forever, you have to make a style change to become a serious beautiful actress,” explained style expert Jenn Falik.
Vanity Fair continued, “That’s not to say that Munn, like most up-and-comers, didn’t evolve. Her second act included surefire hits like her 2013 Vanity Fair Oscar party turn in a pink Atelier Versace gown and her va-va-voom Dolce & Gabbana appearance at the 2012 Magic Mike premiere.”
Olivia Connected With the Ideal Stylist
GettyWhile Olivia’s style continued to evolve, one thing made a major change: Meeting the ideal stylist.
Indeed, “Munn found a comrade in stylist Micaela Erlanger, and has entered a new phase with her professional and personal style,” Vanity Fair noted. “Erlanger is best known for her clients Lupita Nyong’o (remember that pretty-as-a-princess Prada gown at the Oscars?) and Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery — and their consistently ladylike, almost prim clothes.”
“It’s really important that your stylist have the same sensibility and that they’re not trying to push a particular outfit,” Olivia explained.
Vanity Fair added, “Thus, Erlanger and Munn let loose a bit more, with bright but polished designs by Lanvin, J.Mendel, Michael Kors, Valentino, and Peter Pilotto.”
