Malarkey recalled getting into an argument with Harley over dinner one evening, which led to a restless night and a medical emergency.

Food Network’s Brian Malarkey Details Medical Emergency

According to the “Guy’s Grocery Games” star, he and Harley had a disagreement about him being on his phone too much during a night out. The following morning, after getting nearly no sleep the night before, Malarkey drank three espressos.

“All of a sudden, I start seeing black spots,” he recalled during the Tuesday, November 11 episode of his “Harley and Malarkey Podcast.”

After trying to calm himself, the “black spots” became more pronounced, and he realized, “I might pass out. I’m going down.”

He went on to say that he laid down, and his “stomach started fluttering.”

Harley recalled rushing to find Malarkey medical care before he began “fully convulsing.”

“Arms twisted up all weird, feet cramping going the wrong direction,” he explained. “I had zero control over my body at the time, and it was just complete chaos.”

He continued, “The crazy thing was, I never felt pain. I felt fear, I felt scared to death. I [expletive] saw the white light. Like [around] my whole head became very white.”

Fans Shared Thoughts and Prayers for Brian Malarkey

While the couple is still working to determine the cause of Malarkey’s medical emergency, explaining “it was probably a non-psychogenic epileptic seizure,” Harley recalled believing “he’s actually dying.”

“It kept getting more intense, and he was like, ‘In case I don’t make it out of this, I love you,'” she explained.

For his part, Malarkey remembered thinking the white light looked “really great,” before saying, “All of a sudden, I was like, ‘No! No, no, no! I’m not done! I thought about my children, I thought about my work, I thought about Harley, I thought about my mom. Am I at peace? Did I do good?”

After a series of tests, doctors determined Malarkey did not have a brain bleed, blood tests were normal, as were his CT scan and urine tests.

Fans sent their heartfelt well-wishes to the Food Network star via social media, thanking him for opening up about his ordeal.
