Rachael Ray made a striking return to the public eye this week, turning heads in New York City as she headed into “The Drew Barrymore Show” taping.
The 57-year-old television chef kept her look low-key yet stylish — wearing a brown leather jacket, brown shirt, and matching trousers, completed with chunky bronze boots and a black handbag.
It was a rare outing for Ray, who has kept a quieter profile this year following a series of personal and professional challenges.
Ray Recently Celebrated Her Anniversary
The celebrity chef took to social media to share with fans her sweet anniversary in September.
“For you, I’ll always pay the toll. Two decades, one kitchen, and the right recipe all along,” she wrote.
“I couldn’t let the day get away before saying Happy 20th anniversary to us! Our marriage has been the ultimate dinner party, always full of laughter, flavor and a little bit of spice,” Ray continued. “Happy anniversary my love! Here’s to many more!”
Her husband, John Cusimano, shared an equally heartfelt post on social media.
“I can’t believe how fast 20 years together has flown by. Happy anniversary my love!” he wrote, along with a carousel of images.
Battling Life’s Setbacks
Ray has not shied away from discussing a string of difficulties in recent years.
In interviews, she’s spoken about suffering “a couple of bad falls” in 2024 while doing everyday tasks like carrying firewood near her home.
Her home in Lake Luzerne was damaged by fire, and her New York City apartment also flooded during Hurricane Ida — events she described as devastating for the physical, emotional, and creative things she and her husband had collected over time.
Despite those challenges, the “30 Minute Meals” star has emphasized resilience, as she told People at the time.
“There are so much worse positions we could be in,” Ray says. “I mean, I’m alive. And I do have a roof over my head. And I do have a job.”
“At the end of the day, we always come back to grateful. John and I talk about it a lot,” Ray said.
She added, “We really talk ourselves right through it at the end or the beginning of every day. Some days are different than others. But we try and just say, ‘Okay. Here’s the new plan. Here’s today’s version of the plan. Look at how much we have to be grateful for.'”

Keep up the good work! I feel soon you will be back to your usual joyful and fun loving self! You are too sharp and cute to let anything stand in your way! Stay strong, with love. JL
