The “Top Chef” contestants are in for a unique Quickfire Challenge in an upcoming episode, as they face an unexpected twist.
Host Kristen Kish is joined by a special guest in order to introduce their toughest critics yet.
Contestant Calls Guest Judges “Ruthless”
GettyPEOPLE revealed that beloved comedian Fortune Feister will join Kish for the April 6 Quickfire Challenge.
“Cooking for people is your love language,” she explains to Kish. “Doing comedy is how I try to make people happy.”
Making people happy appears to be a significant component of this challenge, as Feimster tells the cheftestants that she has recently partnered with Comic Relief. The charity is known for using comedy to help lift the spirits of children in need.
Kish tells the contestants they will have their improv skills put to the test with this challenge. And if that wasn’t hard enough to do in front of a comedian, it’s certainly made more difficult when Feimster announces she’s brought some friends for the challenge.
“They’re the toughest critics you’ll probably ever have to face,” she tells them.
GettyContestants immediately start to wonder who these critics could be – perhaps someone like José Andrés, Thomas Keller or Marcus Samuelsson.
Instead, it’s an even more unexpected twist.
“Did I forget to mention they were children?” Feimster teases.
Contestant Duyen Ha then quips, “Kids are ruthless, and so I know they’re gonna be coming in hot.”
Kish asks the special guests about their favorite holidays and vacation spots and uses their answers to create the Quickfire Challenge theme: Christmas in Colorado. She points out that the theme can be “interpreted in so many different ways.”
This has one contestant admitting, “I’ve never been to Colorado in my life.”
But how will the rest of the cheftestants fare?
