Jennifer Aniston’s Heartfelt Letter to Matthew Perry Pulled From Auction

Many of Matthew Perry’s personal belongings are up for auction, but a handwritten note given to the late actor by his “Friends” co-star Jennifer Aniston has been pulled and is no longer for sale.

The note appears to have been given to Perry around the time when the show ended in 2004 and was originally listed alongside his belongings, including a signed Friends script and Perry’s leather wallet.

Heritage Auctions told The Independent that the letter had been removed, but declined to comment further. The outlet further added that Aniston’s representatives did not respond to The Independent’s request for comment.

In the heartfelt note, Aniston said that she will always be there for Perry.

“I know that the light has been dimmed at times and there were moments I was so scared it was going to go out all together. You have always come back,” she wrote. “Thank you for choosing to live this life. You have so much to give and not just to the masses with your talent but as a friend and a husband and a father.”

“I am so proud of you and I am always here for you,” Aniston added. “You may not think to call me but I am always here.”

The charity auction is set to take place on Friday, June 5, and the proceeds will go to the Matthew Perry Foundation. Perry tragically passed away on Oct. 28, 2023, after an accidental ketamine overdose.

More About The Items That Will Be Up For Auction

According to PEOPLE, the auction will include a collection of 26 scripts from episodes such as “The One With Ross’s Tan,” “The One Where Joey Speaks French,” and the two-part series finale, “The Last One.”

Warner Bros, also contributed a cast-signed “Six of One” pilot script and a cast-signed “The Last One, Part I” script. They have also given two tickets to the premiere of The Batman Part II, which is set to be released in 2027, starring Robert Pattinson, as well as a “Mattman” framed 3D portrait with Batman mask from a 2016 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

There will be a 1995 Screen Actors Guild Award, which was given to Perry for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Television Comedy Series, as well as a personal replica of the iconic yellow peephole frame from Monica’s apartment.

“Matthew believed addiction should be met with compassion and science, not stigma and silence,” Lisa Kasteler Calio, CEO of the Matthew Perry Foundation, said in a statement to PEOPLE. “This auction fuels the Foundation’s work to expand access to evidence-based care and confront stigma. It is one more way we ensure that no one has to fight this disease alone.”

Kenneth Iwamasa, who was Perry’s assistant, was sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role in the actor’s death.

“I’m so sorry to all of you. I’m just so sorry to have done illegal acts that I will forever regret. I will take it to my grave,” he said in a Los Angeles courtroom. “I hope I’ll be a cautionary tale to someone who’s in my position to make better choices.”

Iwamasa also addressed the family directly, saying that he’s “horribly, horribly sorry.”
