‘Friends’ Cast Comes Together for Tribute to Matthew Perry

Legendary actor Matthew Perry tragically passed away just over two years ago, and his “Friends” co-stars came together to honor him in an incredible way.

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow were all present for a charity fundraiser that was through the Matthew Perry Foundation. And they all contributed to the charity, which was highlighted in an Instagram post.

“Exciting news! The cast has teamed up with @soundwaves_art and artist Tim Wakefield for a very special collection of artwork this holiday season. Tim has transformed the actual soundwaves of the Friends theme song into these beautiful designs, each inspired by a different character, and each cast member has autographed their own small run of artworks,” the captioned explained. “And in collaboration with the estate of @mattyperry4 we have produced a very limited edition of artworks embossed with Matthew’s official signature.”

“All profits will be supporting charities chosen by the cast, including the @MatthewPerryFoundation and their work helping those struggling with the disease of addiction. Link in bio to get one,” they concluded.

The signed prints were listed at $600, while unsigned ones were selling for $100.

Matthew Perry’s Sister Opened Up About ‘Channeling Grief Into Purpose’

When speaking with Variety in October, Perry’s sister, Caitlin Morrison, revealed how she is “channeling grief into purpose” by founding the Matthew Perry House.

“I’ve had this whole career in nonprofits and charities,” she told the outlet. “It was a very natural thing for my mind to do after he died — to try to work what I knew how to do into bringing some kind of meaning and purpose to this horrible, horrible thing that shouldn’t have happened.”

The Matthew Perry House is beginning in the actor’s hometown of Ottowa, and is “a supportive recovery community” that will “provide housing, on-site care, and a comprehensive range of support services for over 160 individuals at a time. Designed to celebrate all paths to long-term recovery, Matthew Perry House Ottawa will serve as a beacon of hope for those on their recovery journey,” according to the organization’s website.
