Candace Cameron Bure Shares Emotional Tribute to Bob Saget
On Jan. 9, the actress posted a touching tribute on Instagram to honor the man who played her TV dad, Danny Tanner, on “Full House” and years later on the popular reboot “Fuller House.”
“I miss you. Not just today, but every day,” Bure, 49, captioned a carousel of throwback photos featuring herself and Saget throughout their decades-long friendship.
The photos included behind-the-scenes shots from the “Full House” set and red carpet appearances with fellow cast members like John Stamos and Dave Coulier. Bure, who portrayed eldest daughter D.J. Tanner on the family sitcom, often credits her early career and personal growth to the bonds formed during the show’s eight-season run on ABC from 1987 to 1995.
Inside Candace Cameron Bure & Bob Saget’s Close Relationship
Saget passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 9, 2022, at the age of 65. One month after his death, Saget’s family confirmed the cause of death as head trauma. His sudden loss deeply affected fans and former castmates alike.
Bure, known for her candid expressions of faith and family values, was among the first to respond publicly following the news of his death. “I don’t know what to say. I have no words. Bob was one of the best human beings I’ve ever known in my life. I loved him so much,” she wrote on Twitter at the time.
The next day, she posted a separate tribute on Instagram, writing, “I love you sooooo much. I don’t want to say goodbye. 35 years wasn’t long enough.”
In a later post, Bure described Saget as “the glue” that held the cast of “Full House” together writing, “Oh, Bob. Why’d you have to leave us so soon? We are all family, but you were the glue. The sticky, messy, squishy, sweet, lovable glue,” she wrote.
She continued: “My childhood is wrapped up in you, my formative teenaged years and the rest of adulthood. We’ve always been so deeply connected since the day we met when I was 10 years old. You weren’t just like a father, but one of my closest friends in life. This hurts like nothing I’ve ever felt before.”
Bure’s most recent tribute serves as a reminder of their enduring bond and the impact of Saget’s humor, mentorship, and kindness
