Eric Dane’s widow, Rebecca Gayheart, was spotted retrieving the late actor’s personal belongings from Johnny Depp’s home.
Gayheart, who was still married to Dane at the time of his death, stopped by the Los Angeles home on Wednesday to move some of the actor’s things.
In photos shared by the Daily Mail, Gayheart, 54, can be seen carrying several items out of Depp’s residence, including a box labeled “Eric Yearbooks Kids Photos.” She also brought out a black guitar case.
Johnny Depp Quietly Stepped Up For Eric Dane
Previously, Page Six reported that Depp opened the doors of one of his homes in LA to Dane following his diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
At the time, Depp reportedly offered the “Grey’s Anatomy” star to live in his home “rent-free” to help ease his financial burden amid his health battle.
“Eric [had] one less thing to worry about,” the insider told the outlet. “He was living basically rent-free in one of the homes Johnny owns above the Sunset Strip. He told Eric to pay whatever he could — or couldn’t — for rent.”
Dane and Depp reportedly met years ago through mutual friends.
Meanwhile, friends of Dane started a GoFundMe in the wake of his death to assist with medical expenses and support his daughters’ future. As of this writing, the fundraiser has raised $478,223 toward its $500,000 goal.
Eric Dane’s Official Cause of Death Revealed
GettyEarlier this month, Dane’s official cause of death was confirmed. According to PEOPLE, his death certificate revealed he died of respiratory failure, while amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) was listed as the underlying cause of death.
The death certificate also confirmed that Dane was still married to Gayheart at the time of his death.
Gayheart and Dane tied the knot in 2004 and welcomed two daughters, Billy, 16, and Georgia, 14. The actress filed for divorce in 2018, but reportedly dismissed the petition amid the actor’s health battle in 2025.
Prior to Dane’s passing, Gayheart opened up about his diagnosis in December 2025.
“His symptoms started maybe a year prior. When we would have a meal with the kids, he’d say things like, ‘Something’s wrong with my hand.’ He was struggling to use his chopsticks, dropping his food. That was when he started seeing doctors,” Gayheart told The Cut (via Us Weekly).
She continued, “When he told me that day, he just started weeping, as did I. It didn’t feel real because he was still OK.”
Dane passed away on February 19. He was 53.
