Hallmark Star Autumn Reeser Reflects on ‘One of the Hardest Parts’ of Her Life After Finding ‘Joy’ Again

Autumn Reeser has finally found her community again.

The Hallmark actress, best known for her roles in fan-favorite films, such as “The Wedding Veil” trilogy, “Always Amore,” and “A Country Wedding,” recently shared on social media why finding a dance studio in her new neighborhood is so important to her. After her home studio shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, Reeser explained how difficult it was that she lost her “entire community” and the way she “stayed grounded,” especially as a single mother to two young children. Now that she’s back at the barre, the actress is discovering just how much she’s changed over the years.

“Delighted to find an adult ballet studio in my new neighborhood! It’s been awhile…” Reeser wrote in her Instagram Stories from May 1. She included three different snaps of herself standing at the barre under a sign that reads “Ballet” while she told her story.

She continued in the next photo, “Dance studios become mini eco-systems of connection. When COVID hit, my home studio, Sweat Spot in Silverlake, shut down and then closed for good and was torn down. Losing my entire community AND the way I stayed grounded (especially as a single mom to two young boys) was one of the hardest parts of that time for me…”

“Finding a new place to warm these muscles regularly feels tender and sweet. I am not the same person I was the last time I stood at the barre. I take up space. I don’t judge myself. I don’t compare myself. I just feel the sheer joy of moving in community,” Reeser concluded.

Reeser Discusses Finding a Healthy Balance Between Career & Family

Reeser continues to be candid on social media about being a single mom and raising two sons while also continuing her career as an actress.

“And that’s a wrap!” Reeser wrote in the caption of her April 4 Instagram post. “I’ll share more in the future about this upcoming film but for now I’m just feeling grateful that these two pieces of my heart got to come to Canada to spend their spring break with me while I worked.”

She continued, “Having a healthy balance between career + family life was always a dream of mine — but creating a life in film hasn’t been easy while prioritizing mothering. We’ve had to figure out how to navigate it, together, every step of the way.”

“And I’m just so grateful that this time it worked out,” Reeser concluded in the caption of her post.

Her son Finneus “Finn” James Warren was born in May 2011, and Dashiell “Dash” Ford Warren was born in November 2013, according to The List.

“Motherhood changed me profoundly,” Reeser told the Orlando Sentinel in March 2015. “I like to think it ‘beautifully broke me’ because it forced me to come to the most truthful, intimate version of myself … My children have truly been my greatest teachers.”
