Autumn Reeser Shares One Important Lesson About Parenting in Powerful Message to Fans

Autumn Reeser is sharing an inspiring message with her fans.

The Hallmark star recently shared a heartfelt reflection on social media that touches on parenting, personal growth, and embracing change as loved ones evolve over time, specifically as the parent of young children. In her thoughtful post, Reeser encouraged her followers to consider a different perspective on the “growing pains” of changing relationships, offering a reminder that many parents may find meaningful and relatable.

Reeser Encourages Followers to ‘Allow the Becoming’

“Love celebrates growth. Transformation. Evolution,” wrote Reeser in the caption of her June 2 Instagram post. “Relationships, like the rest of life, are designed to shift shape. The way of life itself is to evolve, so celebrate it when you see it in those you love.”

She continued, “There might be growing pains, but expecting things to stay the same is the kiss of death.”

“Parenting young children will teach you this lesson quickly — you are constantly releasing the version of your child that existed yesterday,” Reeser added. She then left fans with three questions to ask themselves:

“Can you do it with joy? Can you give them the gift of loving with open hands? Can you celebrate the new version of them here today?”

Reeser concluded, “Allow the becoming.”

Many fans commented heart emojis to share their love with the actress and her words, while another fan pointed out that what she wrote was, “Sage advice.”

Reeser Shares Thoughts on Aging & Wisdom Ahead of Son’s Birthday

Reeser recently shared similar thoughts on aging ahead of her son Finn’s 15th birthday, alongside a number of sweet photos of him from over the years.

“Someone’s turning 15 tomorrow,” Reeser wrote in the caption of her May 9 Instagram post. She went on to joke, “It’s definitely not me. In case you had doubts. I mean, thank God. You could not pay me enough to go back in time and do that all over again.”

She continued, “I LOVE aging. Wisdom. Having children who walk their own AMAZING paths and no longer need me to do everything for them. He showers! He studies! He packs his own lunch!”

“Watching the way my first baby has somehow suddenly grown into a self-aware, wry, bright young man… priceless,” Reeser added. “Finn, you are my dream made manifest. Empathetic, strong, tenacious, wise, funny, honest, wildly intelligent and true to YOU. Thanks for choosing me, dude. Let’s continue to inspire each other to grow, to communicate and to spread our wings. Fly, baby!!!”

Reeser has been open with fans about the way she raises her sons. In an Instagram post from March 7, the actress revealed the “non-negotiable” part of her parenting: hiking and camping.

“I used to hike this trail with my boys during the pandemic, when we homeschooled and had Tuesday Hiking Club, just the three of us. There are these sweet little 1920’s cabins strung along a stream at the base of this mountain, all of which were mercifully saved during the LA fires,” she wrote.

Reeser continued, “I love bringing my kids to nature. The earth heals and enlivens something deep within us. Hiking and camping were passed down to me from my parents and easily became a non-negotiable part of my parenting, too. Earth is my teacher, guiding me and holding me and reminding me how to listen.”

When asked what her favorite part of raising boys was in an interview with Green Child Magazine from November 2021, Reeser responded with, “I love interacting with them — they’re so funny, smart, endlessly energetic, infuriating, delight-filled, magnificent, and challenging. They continue to be my greatest teachers, every single day.”
