It’s Met Gala Monday!
Actress Brooke Shields, 60, is celebrating the 2026 Met Gala by reminiscing about all of her beautiful looks from previous years.
In an Instagram post from May 4, Shields shared several photos from her appearances at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the prestigious, annual event. While she rocked each beautiful look, Shields’ most iconic moments were — no doubt — her many appearances in the color blue, a theme she has continued since her first Met Gala red carpet in 1983.
“It’s the first Monday in May 💙 Which #MetGala look from the past is your favorite? I can’t wait to see tonight’s outfits,” she captioned her Instagram carousel.
One of her most iconic moments at the Met Gala includes her 2012 appearance after she tore her meniscus while playing Morticia Adams on Broadway in “The Adams Family,” E! News reported. Shields attended the fashion event with a walking cane, making for an unexpected — but necessary — accessory.

Despite her cane, Shields’ gorgeous blue gown designed by J. Mendel stole the show as she walked the red carpet.
Another standout Met Gala appearance from Shields was in 2018 when she wore a custom midnight-blue Zac Posen ballgown with a dramatic silhouette.
The stunning dress was a fan favorite, with many of Shields’ fans complimenting the look in the comments of her Instagram post.
“Love the classic style of the deep blue gown of first picture.. ❤️ The pearls are timeless,” wrote a fan.
“The first look owns my heart 💙💫,” agreed another.
Brooke Shields Attends Her First Met Gala at 18 Years Old
In 2010, Shields attended the Met Gala in a gold sequined dress from Michael Kors, W Magazine reported. The actress looked stunning in the figure-hugging gown, with gold jewelry and a clutch to match.
The beloved star attended the fashion event in 2001, wearing all-black. Her dress fell off of her shoulders and featured a delicate lace design on her arms.
The actress’ starring roles in “The Blue Lagoon” and “Endless Love,” as well as her infamous Calvin Klein ads, landed her an invitation to the renewed event in 1983 for her first Met Gala appearance. At the time, the theme was “Yves Saint Laurent: 25 Years of Design.” At just 18 years old, she confidently wore a blue embroidered gown with puffed sleeves.
GettyShields did not attend the 2026 Met Gala, where the theme was “Costume Art,” embodying fashion as an art form. The “Fashion Is Art” dress code encouraged celebrities to wear garments that act as a canvas for storytelling.
Shields, however, has been active in New York City leading up to the event. The Daily Mail reported that ahead of the gala, Shields and her daughter, Rowan Henchy, 22, turned the city streets into their personal runway when they matched in little black dresses. Shields was with her daughter to support her as she filmed for season 2 of the Bravo reality TV show “Next Gen NYC.”
