Hallmark star Kimberly Williams-Paisley shared a beautiful tribute after the death of her mom from “Father of the Bride,” Diane Keaton. In a recent interview, Williams-Paisley’s husband, country crooner Brad Paisley, shared some touching details about how much Keaton meant to his wife.
Brad Paisley Talked About the ‘Magic’ of Diane Keaton
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight posted on November 2, the singer was asked how the news of Keaton’s death impacted his wife. He shared, “It really, it really did affect Kim.”
He explained, “Because you can imagine she’s 19 years old, gets cast in ‘Father of the Bride’ as an unknown. And her sort of adopted parents in show business were Steve [Martin] and Diane, and they were great to her, and Diane was always great to her.”
“So to her, it is a weird feeling like you have lost a family member. It’s definitely, it shocked her for sure,” Paisley added.
Paisley also noted, “You know, I think that is the magic of Diane Keaton.”
He acknowledged that there were numerous actresses who developed a deep connection to Keaton over the years. However, Paisley added, he felt the mother and daughter connection developed between Keaton and Williams-Paisley in “Father of the Bride” became “one of the most iconic mother-daughter relationship movies you can think of.”
“Diane had that effect on people,” he added, regarding the connection Keaton built with many colleagues over the years.
Kimberly Williams-Paisley Shared a Beautiful Tribute After Keaton’s Death
Shortly after news of Keaton’s death emerged on October 11, Williams-Paisley shared a beautiful tribute to her on-screen mom. In an Instagram post, she wrote, “Diane, working with you will always be one of the highlights of my life.”
She continued, “You are one of a kind, and it was thrilling to be in your orbit for a time. Thank you for your talent, and above all, your laughter.”
“Father of the Bride” was released in 1991, and it was the first big role Williams-Paisley landed. The stars reunited to film both 1995’s “Father of the Bride Part II” and “Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish)” in 2020.
They never had an opportunity to work together on other movies. Despite that, the bond formed while doing the trio of “Father of the Bride” movies seemed to last a lifetime. The tribute Williams-Paisley posted and the insight Paisley recently shared made that clear.
