Kimberly Williams-Paisley Honors Diane Keaton with Nod to the Late Star’s Signature Wardrobe: PHOTOS

Before Diane Keaton passed away in October 2025, she and “Father of the Bride” co-star Kimberly-Williams Paisley formed a connection that went beyond their days on set.

In an Instagram post shared by the Hallmark star on Friday, August 7, Williams-Paisley honored her friend Keaton by wearing the late star’s iconic hat and gloves she bought at auction.

In Williams-Paisley’s 8-photo carousel, she modeled Keaton’s personal items while also donning an outfit tailored to Keaton’s unique style.

The 54-year-old actress penned a meaningful tribute to Keaton in her caption, thanking her for shining her rare — and adored — personality through the belongings she left behind.

“Recently I bought this hat and gloves from the Diane Keaton auction. I’m so happy to have some of her iconic style with me. While my friends and I were carefully unpacking these items and getting ready to shoot this, a gorgeous, gigantic bald eagle landed in a nearby tree, stayed for a moment and then flew off (see video). THIS IS SO RARE!! It definitely felt like Diane’s energy was around us! The hat says, “NO MORE WAR,” and she’d added a skull and crossbones. So, I’m passing along her message. 👑✌🏻❤️🕊️ (this is part one of two ☺️) #dianekeaton,” Williams-Paisley wrote.

In a previous episode of the “Call It What It Is” podcast, Williams-Paisley opened up about how she and Keaton connected during their time working together in “Father of the Bride” and its sequel, telling the podcast hosts Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington that Keaton was “just so generous and so funny and wise.”

“And especially on the second film,” Williams-Paisley added. “I felt like we really bonded and, you know, just laughed like you and I do. Just like, the humor clicked, and it was so fun to be on set when she was on set.”

What Inspired Diane Keaton’s Signature Style?

During her five-decade career in Hollywood, Keaton’s style was unmatched. Her love of hats and turtlenecks was a distinctive wardrobe statement, staying true to her signature aesthetic in every moment.

Before her death, Keaton opened up about her expressive fashion in an interview with PEOPLE. The “Annie Hall” star shared that it was her mom, Dorothy Deanne Keaton, who inspired from a young age the delicacy of a defining style.

“She was my biggest supporter and manifester of my creativity. Later in life, my inspiration came from countless hours of cutting and pasting my way through magazines like Vogue magazine,” Keaton shared.

Much like Williams-Paisley valuing Keaton’s keepsakes, Keaton also had a favorite clothing item.

In her 2024 interview with PEOPLE, Keaton shared that her favorite style piece was from her dad, John Newton Ignatius “Jack” Hall. “My dad’s sweater,” Keaton said. “I will treasure that forever even though it is full of holes.”

Keaton was so attached to her statement elegance that she even insisted on wearing her own clothing for her movie roles.  “Normally I let the customer pick from my closet so I am focused on making sure I get back all of my personal items to be honest,” Keaton said.
