Ryan Paevey Clarifies New Strategy to Meet Demand for His Jewelry Business

Ryan Paevey is a busy man. Not only does he play Nathan West on the soap, “General Hospital,” but he also appears in films, such as the upcoming “Shore of Secrets.” Somehow, he also finds time to run his own small business, Fortunate Wanderer. For the last ten years, he’s been making everything from pendants to rings in his garage.

The Hallmark hunk admitted in an Instagram reel that his acting career takes him away from home a lot, and juggling both “has been kind of complicated.” However, for all those who have been longing for one of his authentic designs, inventory has often been spotty. Thankfully, he’s not only found a solution, but he’s also introducing his first piece from the collection.

Ryan Paevey Unveils New Fabricated Jewelry Pieces

“I am starting to design pieces and have them fabricated for me,” the “Fourth Down and Love” star explained. “And I knew that the first one that we did this had to be special. It’s the first one. It’s the first kind of product like this. I’ve had this idea for a pendant for a really long time that I wanted to kind of be indicative of the brand, representative of the brand, that felt a bit like pirate treasure washed up on a beach.”

Fans familiar with Fortunate Wanderer will instantly recognize the Rove Medallion’s anchor design, as it’s also the brand’s logo.

The anchor design is front there,” he said. “Around it is recessed, and there’s a textural element around that that’s sort of representative of the ocean floor. I wanted it to have some body. I really wanted it to be a solid piece. It felt like buried treasure found on an adventure, because that’s always what I’m thinking about when I make stuff.”

Paevey Confirms That Most of the Jewelry Will Still Be Handmade

The jewelry Paevey creates is evocative of nature, with pendant shapes resembling sand dollars, beachcombers, peonies, and sharks’ teeth. Many of the rings are made of variscite, turquoise, and jasper, reminiscent of the ocean, which is no coincidence.

“Obviously, I love anything that has to do with the ocean,” Paevey admitted. “Surfing, anything like that. So, the ocean is present in everything that I make, or design, or create. And I really wanted this to feel like lost treasure, like old coin feelings to it.”

Despite the news that his designs will be created elsewhere, Paevey is clear that this will only help with inventory, not replace his handcrafted pieces.

“I want to go on to say that it’s never going to replace handmade,” the “Under the Christmas Sky” added. “I’m always going to work with my hands. And the bulk of Wanderer, the core of it, will always be handmade stuff made by me, here in my shop.”
