“General Hospital” star and former Hallmark hunk Ryan Paevey has been creating jewelry for about a decade now. While he’s been acting even longer, the two are equal passions for him. Business is booming, as well, with the actor sending some of his designs to a 3D printer to ensure inventory. However, he maintains that the majority of his pieces are handmade.
One job he won’t outsource is the wedding ring he’s creating for his “General Hospital” co-star, Rory Gibson. In a recent Instagram video, Paevey explained why making things for loved ones, such as Gibson, is his “favorite” thing.
Paevey Has Been Crafting a Wedding Band for His ‘General Hospital’ Co-Star
In his video, the “A Fabled Holiday” star recalled chatting with Gibson, who plays Michael Corinthos on the soap opera, “General Hospital.” Paevey returned to the role of Nathan West in 2025 after taking a break from acting to deal with personal issues, but has not yet returned to Hallmark. He and Gibson have only worked together for a short time, but after he told Gibson he made jewelry, Gibson asked him for a wedding band.
“I was just like, ‘Well, I only work in silver, really, but I’ll make you a band if you just need a band,” Paevey told him.
“I was really touched and honored that Rory would ask me to make his wedding band,” he continued. “We just kind of settled on this really simple design of like a good, hardy, hammered band, and I made it. And I was really honored to make it.”
“I think stuff like that are sometimes my favorite stuff to make,” he added. “It’s not an overly complicated thing that I made, but it has meaning behind it. It wasn’t to show off to a friend, some amazing feat of technical expertise. It was a simple thing made for a good friend, with sentimental value, and I liked it. I think it turned out pretty cool.”

Paevey’s jewelry business is called Fortunate Wanderer. The “Under the Christmas Sky” star makes gorgeous, handcrafted pieces. He loves to choose unique stones for the rings, cuffs, and pendants he creates. On his YouTube channel as well as Instagram, he often demonstrates his jewelry-making process.
Gibson and Alicia Ruelas have been dating for about a decade. In Oct., 2022, Gibson proposed, and the two got engaged.
In January, Gibson posted an Instagram story showing him video chatting with Paevey. He captioned it, “The homie… making my wedding ring.”
