Ryan Paevey Reveals He Has a ‘Whole Bunch of Films’ Ahead After 2 Year Acting Hiatus

The future looks bright for Ryan Paevey, which is a huge relief to his many Hallmark Channel fans. Since deciding to return to acting in the summer of 2025, reprising his role as Nathan West on upcoming episodes of “General Hospital,” Paevey has revealed that even more projects are on the way.

On September 5, 2025, Paevey posted a video update in which he shared that “General Hospital” isn’t the only new acting gig on his schedule, noting that he has “a whole bunch of films on the radar right now.” He also launched his own YouTube series devoted to surfing and adventuring.

In August, Paevey surprised fans with news of his acting comeback, returning to film “General Hospital” seven years after his character, Nathan West, was killed off. The show’s head writers confirmed to TV Insider that Paevey will return as West in a soap-worthy plot twist.

But in his September 5 update, Paevey said there are plenty more acting gigs on the horizon, including a surfing movie — which is exactly what he told fans in late August was his dream to film next, noting that his 2022 Hallmark movie “Two Tickets to Paradise” with Ashley Williams was one of his favorites.

“You hear me talk about how I’ve got a lot of irons in the fire lately,” he said in his latest Instagram video. “‘General Hospital’ is one of them … but there’s others as well.”

He continued, “I’ve got a whole bunch of films on the radar right now, one which is coming up pretty soon. Tropical location, surfing … it’s gonna be cool. Gonna bring some friends along — you might recognize one in the film, no less — so that’s super exciting.”

However, he also revealed that a Hallmark movie isn’t one of the projects on his schedule so far. When one fan commented, “Hope Hallmark magic is in the mix,” Paevey responded, “nothing so far….but who knows. I’m still around. ; )”

Ryan Paevey Launches New Project, ‘The Wanderers’

Among his new projects, Paevey and his new team of filmmakers and social media specialists released a new video on September 7 — the first episode of his new project called “The Wanderers.”

“In this episode, Ryan Paevey and his brother Toshi head out on a San Diego surf adventure to explore some of the best surf spots in North County,” the YouTube description says. “They search for waves in Carlsbad before paddling out at Terramar and Ponto Beach. With a mix of longboards and fish surfboards, they dive into the classic California surf lifestyle and share the stoke of chasing waves together.”

The goal of the series, is to highlight “the beauty of San Diego’s coastline, from hidden beaches to popular breaks. Whether you’re into longboarding, riding a fish, or just watching a mellow California surf session, this video captures the vibe of surfing in San Diego.”

Where Has Ryan Paevey Been?

Last seen in the 2023 Hallmark movies “Fourth Down and Love” and “Under the Christmas Sky,” Paevey issued a statement via EntertainmentNow in June 2024 that he had stepped away from acting, shifting his focus to his jewelry-making enterprise, Fortunate Wanderer, and helping to care for his mom, who’d been diagnosed with cancer.

He began teasing a possible return in the summer of 2025 before news of him filming “General Hospital” broke in August. He also attended the first Christmas in a Small Town fan convention in late July.

In the September 8 issue of TV Guide, Paevey said that during his time away, “I settled into a quiet life. I took mom to appointments. I worked in my shop, I surfed in the afternoons, and I didn’t pay attention to social media at all, or television.”
