Hallmark Channel is known for its hunky leading men, delivering a lethal on-screen combination of washboard abs, chiseled jawlines, and puppy dog eyes. But believe it or not, the network’s top actors don’t spend all of their downtime at the gym or memorizing lines.
Some Hallmark hunks are also amazing visual artists, periodically sharing another side of their creativity, from painting to woodworking to photography. Here are six of our favorites!
Hallmark Channel’s Michael Rady, Luke Macfarlane & Paul Campbell Are All Amazing Woodworkers
HallmarkIncredibly, Hallmark has three very accomplished and talented woodworkers among its most popular actors. “Catch of the Day” star Michael Rady, who’s been with the network since 2016’s “Christmas at Homestead,” kicked off 2026 by sharing a new project he’s working on.
Rady periodically posts videos from his expansive wood shop in Connecticut, on the property where he and his wife Rachel have lived with their kids for more than eight years. In late 2025, Rady shared much of the process of creating a gorgeous round table, posting the final result on November 2.
Fellow Hallmark star Kristoffer Polaha commented on the post, sharing that he built a kitchen table during the pandemic that can be passed down for generations. Rady sweetly replied, “A kitchen table is a special thing … It is one of the things I’m most proud of, when someone asks me to make them one. To help create the place where SO much of their life -little moments, big moments- will unfold.”
Luke Macfarlane is so passionate about woodworking that he starred in Hallmark’s 2025 unscripted series “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” available to stream on Hallmark+. The longtime Hallmark hunk, who co-stars with Rachael Leigh Cook in “Caught By Love” on January 24, teamed up with interior designer Olivia Westbrook on the show to transform families’ spaces with a whole lot of heart. In his limited spare time, Macfarlane has shared some of his woodworking projects on social media, including building his daughter’s crib.
In 2022, Macfarlane told Story+Rain that his dad initially taught him the craft and then he took classes once he moved to California to act, recalling, “I started working with a woodworking teacher down in Anaheim. Between gigs, I would drive down, and this teacher, William Ng, showed me how to take my work to the next level, to get into furniture design, building, and joinery. That really led me to a next level of woodworking.”
Meanwhile, busy “Three Wisest Men” actor and screenwriter Paul Campbell also has a rich background as a woodworker. Some of his older projects are showcased on his website, from skateboards to a playhouse.
Ektor Rivera is an Accomplished & Sought After Painter
“The Chicken Sisters” star Ektor Rivera is an accomplished painter whose art is sought after by collectors and celebrities. According to his website, in 2023, renowned playwright and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, along with his father, commissioned Rivera to create a giant oil and acrylic painting as part of a “living tribute” to legendary actress Rita Moreno. Rivera shared photos in August 2025 of Moreno seeing the beautiful portrait up close for the first time, which brought her to tears.
In September, Rivera was one of eight artists — all from different countries — whose paintings were featured in a Los Angeles art show called “Unbordered.” His art has become so popular that he runs a separate Instagram page dedicated to sharing what he creates.
Ryan Paevey is a Silversmith With His Own Jewelry Business
When Ryan Paevey took a break from acting in 2024, much to the chagrin of his Hallmark fans, he spent time reflecting, surfing, and focusing on his jewelry business, Fortunate Wanderer. The “Two Tickets to Paradise” star periodically hosts pop-up sales of his rings and bracelets, which he melts, shapes, hammers, and polishes, often incorporating raw stones or beautiful beads.
While there are a few items still available on the site, Paevey’s next collection will drop in the spring of 2026. And though he has not made a Hallmark movie since 2023’s “Under the Christmas Sky,” Paevey did announce his return to “General Hospital” in August.
Hallmark Channel’s Victor Webster is a Gifted Photographer
Longtime Hallmark star Victor Webster told EntertainmentNow in June that he considers photography “just a hobby,” but it’s clear he has quite a gift for it. The “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” star has an Instagram page dedicated to his photos, from intimate portraits (including several of “When Calls The Heart” stud Kevin McGarry) to stunning landscapes.
Webster has a website where art lovers can purchase his photographs, taken on his travels around the world. They’re available in collections devoted to topics like nature scenes, Americana, animals, and protests.
