The fourth and final season of “The Way Home” premieres on April 19, and fans cannot wait. Hallmark recently shared a new sneak peek for the season via Instagram, and fans have big questions.
A Reference to Cole Has Everybody Talking
In the caption, Hallmark teases, “The story we know is only the beginning.”
The video is filled with quick glimpses of many of the main characters, with lots of action on the way. One specific moment, however, really has “The Way Home” fans talking.
Midway through the preview, Andie MacDowell’s character of Del Landry is shown with a very surprised look on her face. She questions, “Cole?”
Text appearing as the video plays reads, “The story we know…is just the beginning.”
The comment section was filled with enthusiastic reactions from “The Way Home” fans.
One person wrote, “DID DEL JUST…”
Another fan responded, “She sure did!”
Someone else suggested, “Yes! I believe she is seeing the younger Cole.”
Another question that popped up was regarding Max.
“The Way Home” star Sadie Laflamme-Snow, who plays Alice Dhawan, teasingly asked, “Now WTF is Max doing in the pond.”
“I’m glad someone said it,” replied a fan.
“I hope going with you to see a young Evelyn,” responded another Instagram user.
In a subreddit devoted to “The Way Home,” another fan shared their theory on the exclamation Del makes about Cole. “Unless Colton has been in ‘the still point’ a limbo where he isn’t sure where he’s been. My other thought would be a future time traveler who looks just like their grandfather Colton.”
The possibilities had another Reddit user admitting, “This is so mind scrambling lol.”
‘The Way Home’ Fans Are not Ready to Say Goodbye
Many fans of “The Way Home” voiced their sadness over the fourth season being the show’s last.
One person wrote, “This should not be the final season – so much story left to tell, such a genuinely good show to watch with my tween daughter. Prior seasons have become a hit on Netflix – please reconsider ending this series.”
Someone else who agreed with that sentiment added, “Don’t they see the potential here? This show does nothing but grow and grow…Somebody please give us our fifth season!”
Another response read, “This is the only series that I would actually watch for 10 years.”
A Redditor bemoaned, “I’m so sad this is the last season. Hallmark really messed this one up.”
“I’m really hoping Netflix will pick it up, at least for another season or two…we need another season or two,” read someone else’s comment.
