Fans are counting down for the new season of HGTV‘s “The Flip Off.” But, according to Heather Rae El Moussa, season 2 is going to look a little different.

Heather took to her Instagram Story while filming season 2 of her competition series with husband Tarek El Moussa and his ex-wife, Christina Haack. The Netflix star was answering fan questions about the upcoming season when she spilled on some major changes.
“Will you team up with Christina?” one fan asked during a Q&A on August 5.
Heather responded, “No. I think you’ll definitely love a major twist that is in this season though.”
She added a crying laughing fan and wrote, “None of us saw this coming.”
“Let’s be real, we’re always up to something together! You’ll have to wait and see this season,” she added in a separate slide.
“The Flip Off” — which first premiered in May 2025 — is a competition renovation series that features the El Moussas against the “Christina on the Coast” alum. Originally the show was supposed to be Heather and Tarek versus Christina and her now ex-husband Josh Hall. However, after their divorce, the series continued on without Hall.
While the “Selling Sunset” star did not elaborate on what’s to come, she previously hinted that she wanted to pair up with Christina against Tarek.
“I think that it would be super fun [to team up with Christina],” Heather told People in June 2025. “I think that people would love to see Christina and I working together and beating my husband because he thinks that he could beat us, especially in a design contest.”

Despite their relationships with Tarek, the two women have become the best friends over the years.
Christina — who shares son Brayden and daughter Taylor with Tarek — recently revealed that “there was no introduction” between her and Heather.
“So basically I was seven or eight months pregnant with Hudson,” for “Flip or Flop” alum said of the son she shares with ex Ant Anstead. “Tarek texted me that he was coming to get the kids and he did not tell me that Heather was coming over. It was like a random day. It’s super random.”
Haack continued, “And so I’m just like [a] really pregnant person looking like s**t. I probably would have at least put on this amount of makeup on to look presentable when I’m meeting you for the first time. He just like shows up with you there!”
Heather jokingly added, “He’s like, ‘Here’s my new little toy.'”
However, Heather seemed to recall a different memory of their first encounter.
“I remember Tarek and I were going to L.A. to go out to dinner,” she shared. “This is when I first thought I met you. We stopped by, and he probably didn’t tell you that I was even with him. I thought it was Brayden’s birthday or something and you had the kids and then we stopped by to say, ‘Hi.’ And I was in this really cute pink dress. I remember him being like, ‘Oh, let’s go and say, hi.’ And I was nervous to go meet you.'”
Adding, “I was definitely like, intimidated. And you asked me like, a few questions to break the ice.”
The moms have grown incredibly close in the years since.
