Will HGTV stars Heather Rae El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa join a future season of “Dancing With the Stars”? Heather Rae reveals that Tarek has been approached by the show in the past, but is he ready to take on the challenge?
Heather Rae El Moussa Says She’s Up for Joining ‘DWTS’
In an October 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Heather Rae was asked about whether she or Tarek would compete on “Dancing With the Stars.”
“He was [approached] back in the day,” she said of her husband. “The man can dance a little. I don’t think he thinks he can.”
Heather Rae added, “I would totally be open to it.”
She even suggested both she and Tarek sign up for the show. “I think it would be fun to do ‘Dancing With the Stars’ together and, like, [the] competition [of it all]. May the best couple win!”
As for their “Flip Off” costar and Tarek’s ex-wife Christina Haack joining the dance competition, Heather Rae isn’t sure it’s in the cards.
“I don’t think Christina would do it,” Heather Rae shared. “She doesn’t like dancing.”
Heather Calls Marriage a ‘Work in Progress’
The HGTV star also shared that her marriage to Tarek is “a work in progress” after welcoming their son Tristan in January 2023.
“I think marriage is a work in progress in general,” she told Us Weekly. “Like you’re with this person every day.”
“The Flip Off” star noted that while she doesn’t think “there’s a solution or an answer” to getting back to the way a relationship is before kids, it’s important to remember “why you fell in love.”
“Tarek and I will say we are best friends. We have so much fun together. We laugh all the time together,” she said. “I think at the beginning, like you’re so connected as you’re learning about all these things, I think people forget to learn things about their partner, like, the longer they’re together, you stop dating each other and asking each other questions.”
Heather Rae shared that therapy has also brought them “closer together.”
“We were able to talk about some hard things that maybe we couldn’t at home,” she said. “So when we’re in our therapy [session], where we feel a little bit safer to be like, ‘Hey, this is how I feel.’ We kind of have a response, and [our therapist is] there to moderate, and I feel like it can bring us closer together after that.”
She added that “communication, laughing together, and getting away together” are key in a relationship.
