HGTV Alum Reveals the Real Reason She Stepped Away From Hit Show

HGTV alum Jenn Todryk has been open about her decision to step away from filming her beloved show, “No Demo Reno.”

However, the designer just revealed one special reason that helped make her decision easy.

Jenn Todryk’s Real Reason for Stepping Away

Todryk took to social media on Tuesday, April 21, to share a small life update with fans.

The fan-favorite host explained that she and husband Mike Todryk are heading out of town tomorrow during a chaotic time in their home.

“We leave for Sonoma tomorrow and we are [spazzing] about it to be honest. We know we’ll be pumped once we get there but April is by far the worst month for Mike and I to leave — never again,” she wrote over a video of herself in her Instagram Story.”

The former design star explained that she gifted her husband a golf getaway for Christmas last year with a few friends as a couple’s trip.

“So we are doing that and leaving tomorrow,” she said. “April is a really bad month for us to leave. We are so stressed about leaving, to be completely honest. We are never traveling in April again. My parents are being amazing and still keeping up with the kids, but their schedule is insane.”

She added in a follow-up post, “No one will be working harder than my parents this weekend. And the crazy thing is — this is our every day normal.”

Todryk went on to say that, while their vacation is only three nights, they will be missing 11 events for their children.

“It’s robbing us of, like, the excitement a little, because we’re missing games,” she said.

Despite the apparent chaos of the family schedule, Todryk made it clear, “I love our life.”

“It’s busy. Six out of seven nights we all still sit down for dinner together, which is important to me but sometimes it’s at 4:45,” she shared. “I paused part of my career in order to do THIS. I will never complain because I love it, but man, it feels like a lot once you ask someone else to keep it up.”

Jenn Todryk Puts Career on ‘Pause’

Todryk made the decision to step away from “No Demo Reno” to be more present with her growing family.

The mom of three — who shares son Von and daughters Berkley and Vivienne with her husband — stands by her decision.

“I do think I chose to walk away at the perfect time,” Todryk wrote in her Instagram Story in March. “I didn’t want my kids to spend their childhood on a ‘set,’ I didn’t want their home and safe space to feel like a set or be at home while I was away.”

Earlier that month, she opened up to TV Insider about the potential of an HGTV return.

“I am super grateful that I have a really awesome relationship with HGTV. I know that the door is open so whenever I want to make content, I can,” she told the outlet. “That’s something I’m really grateful for. But life is so busy right now, I’m just trying to survive with all the home life stuff now. But HGTV is great and I really have loved working with them.:
