Jenny Marrs Gives Advice on Designing a White Kitchen
On March 6, Dave and Jenny Marrs’ Instagram account featured a post called “Jenny’s Guide to White Kitchens.”
Jenny included photos to illustrate her design advice, showing the impact that even small details can have on the final look — from incorporating wood and texture, to adding brass hardware.
“Welcome back to Friday Q+A! This week we’re talking about how to warm up a white kitchen,” the caption noted.
The HGTV stars shared, “One of the easiest ways to add warmth is by incorporating natural wood tones. Whether it’s wood shelving, a butcher block accent, or wood flooring, these elements add depth and create a foundation that balances bright cabinetry.”
“Another detail we love is warm metals,” Jenny wrote. “Brass hardware and faucets bring in contrast and help soften an all-white palette while still feeling classic.”
As for lighting, she shared, “Woven or fabric light fixtures paired with warm lighting can instantly make a kitchen feel more inviting and layered.”
Texture can come from small elements, but have a big impact. “From handmade or textured tile to simple styling elements like cutting boards, linens, and greenery, these small details help a white kitchen feel warm, lived in, and balanced,” Jenny explained.
She also included the paint color — “Benjamin Moore White Dove,” calling it “a beautiful white with warm undertones.”
“White kitchens will always feel classic — it’s the layers of warmth and texture that make them feel special,” the “Fixer to Fabulous” star added.
