The HGTV staple took to social media on Saturday, January 17, to honor his beloved future wife with a series of photos.

“Happy birthday, Zooey ❤️ You’re magic! ❤️,” Scott captioned the post, which featured three photos of the couple in various destinations and one solo photo of the “New Girl” star.

The short and sweet declaration comes as the pair continue to plan their big day.

“We’ve just been having so much fun traveling with the kids and filming this show and stuff,” Scott told People in August 2025. “So no, we have not actually made any plans yet, which, it’s been two years now since I proposed.”

He added, “Whatever we do [for the wedding], it has to be meaningful to us and we want to gather our friends and family and have a good time. We want to keep it very, very intimate.”

The master builder previously told the outlet that they were considering a very small ceremony, followed by a bigger party with friends in Los Angeles.

“We’re not planning to do a crazy, extravagant wedding. We will probably throw another party just for friends here locally [in L.A.],” he said in May 2024.

Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel’s Relationship Timeline

The “Chasing the West” star and the “Elf” actress were first romantically linked after filming an episode of “Carpool Karaoke” with James Corden in 2019. Their siblings, Drew Scott and Emily Deschanel respectively, were also involved in filming.

They quickly made their relationship Instagram official after a night at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in October 2019.

Deschanel made her HGTV debut on Scott’s “Celebrity IOU” in December 2020. They went on to renovate their own dream home.

“We have each other, and we have time — the rest of our lives together in this house. Our house. Our dream home, where we’ll see the kids grow up laughing and adventuring in the yard, where we’ll play host to friends and family,” he wrote in a January 2021 essay for Reveal.

Scott proposed in August 2023 during a family trip to Scotland.

“Forever starts now!!!” she captioned the sweet Instagram announcement.
