Ben and Erin Napier were helping their friends restore a hotel for a new HGTV show when a fire broke out, leaving the project’s future in doubt. Now, the “Home Town” stars share an update on when fans might finally see it on TV.
Ben & Erin Napier Share Show Update Following Hotel Fire
In a January 2026 interview with TV Insider, while discussing “Home Town” season 10, the Napiers gave an update on the hotel project.
“There was a point where you weren’t sure if ‘Home Town: Inn This Together’ would move forward after the fire. What does it mean to you to see this still happening? What can viewers expect?” they were asked.
Ben shared, “We actually don’t know when it’s gonna air, but it’ll be later this year.”
Erin noted, “I hope what people feel is how enormously proud we are of our friends for what they did. I mean, it was such a massive undertaking for them. I hope that people see and are inspired to see how much they can do for the town where they live.”
On August 26, 2025, a fire broke out at The Heirloom that destroyed all their work. “After so much celebration last week, today my best friends @malraz, Jim, and @joshuanowell lost their labor of love, their dream, @theheirloom.us hotel in an early morning fire,” Napier wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
She continued, “Before they ever even welcomed the first guest. Praise God, no one was inside. We held each other and watched while the brave fire fighters from the Laurel FD worked for hours to get it under control.”
“I don’t know what will happen next or if you’ll ever get to see this @hgtv show now. I don’t know much of anything,” Napier shared. “Pray for my friends and family, please. It is hard to explain how this reverberates through our town and its progress in many ways.”
She added, “But I know God has a plan for this setback. He always knows the way, even when we don’t.”
In a December 2025 interview with USA Today, Ben confirmed, “The episodes are going to air.”
Erin shared, “This was their baby. To watch them give their all — and I really mean give their all to create this masterpiece — and then to watch it burn together, was devastating.”
“I think — even though it didn’t go the way we all were expecting and hoping and excited about — if you want to see human endurance and the spirit of we can do hard things, it is going to be that hotel series,” she added.
Erin Napier Shares the ‘Home Town’ Season 10 Renovation Reveal That Had Her in Tears
Ben and Erin have their work cut out for them in “Home Town” season 10, with one renovation so big, it spans two episodes. They also worked on a project with a very personal connection — renovating the local hospital’s maternity ward and waiting area.
In a January 2026 interview with TooFab, Erin shared that she was moved to tears by the emotional hospital project reveal.
“We have a lot of very highly charged emotional days that happened in that postpartum room,” she explained. “I cried like an idiot at the reveal and I fully, fully didn’t intend to. I was so embarrassed.”
She noted, “It’s a special place and it’s such a special episode. I got emotional because it was all about … like, I hope these nurses and doctors, who were so incredible towards me and towards my family, every time we’ve ever been there, feel honored by it.”
Erin shared how she “wanted to make it wonderful for them,” as well as meet the CEO’s expectation of making it “feel like a five-star hotel experience for mothers.”
“I want it to be the most comforting and joyful and restful experience that it can be,” she added. “And it’s just really special.”
