On August 12, Scott took to Instagram to share a look at some of the spaces in his and Deschanel’s house that make it feel like a home.
“Those in-between spaces are a secret ingredient to making your house a home, it’s all in the details,” he wrote in the caption. “Here’s a few spaces that make my house feel like home. What makes your house a home?”
In the first photo, Scott and Deschanel stand in a gazebo, smiling at each other as he holds a dessert stand with her about to feed him a macaron. In her other hand, Deschanel holds a pair of heels. The scene is lush, with sunlight shining through the trees and a pop of beautiful color in the foreground.

Jonathan Scott & Zooey Deschanel Want an ‘Intimate’ Wedding
Scott has opened up about their wedding plans in interviews, sharing that he and Deschanel are enjoying their long engagement.
In a March 2026 interview with People, the HGTV star shared their guest list approach — and why they plan to keep their nuptials “intimate.”
“I’ve sort of entered this phase of my life now where I’m realizing there are a lot of people around you who … you put way more effort into the relationship than they do,” Scott shared. “People who I find I’m constantly asking if they would like to go out, if I make plans, would you like to join? And they don’t reciprocate.”
He continued, “I think we have decided we want to be around the people who actually love our friendship and love spending time with us.”
Scott also shared that they have been so busy “living life and enjoying the moment” that they haven’t made much progress on wedding planning.
“So, I’m okay with the idea of something intimate that’s just the people who really care,” the “Property Brothers” star added. “And at some point, we’ll figure out a date and a location and all that stuff, but we haven’t done it yet.”
